today i saw a selle italia turbo for sale for $69 on ebay but also with a "make offer" option enabled and none sold within the last 30 days. so I offered $50 (expecting a counter) and the counter came back at "$68" with the note "$68.00 is our lowest possible price for this item!"

remove the damn "make offer" button from your auction, twerps!

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather today and getting a group ride together.

I tested out the castelli arm warmers last night and they are awesome. anyone who catches them on bonktown should grab them. really really happy with the purchase and I thought originally it was a bit silly to have them. after biking around when it was cold then ending up inside, it was really awesome to just be able to whip them on or off

Today I edited some articles for publication. Someone needs to make a meme for college journalism students along the lines of: submits article using three different fonts...you wanted me to use spellcheck, too?

I want to find who taught these people how to write and spend the rest of my night kicking them in the shins.

If they intend to make it a career, they'll probably figure things out pretty quickly.

Painted my fork and headtube

Went to the ballet, saw The Nutcracker. Amazing show.

Today I ate a burrito at Panchero's to make up for the terrible Subway I had for lunch. Now I'm going to play Battlefield 3 until my food digests enough to roller.

Today was day 3 of this backache. 3rd day with a street session in the books.

RGNY 12-29-11 08:47 PM

in the shop/dungeon/basement by 8am and wrenched on bikes until noon, did my 100 pushups, beer run, got supplies and made Hungarian chicken paprikas w/ dumplings for dinner.

now a glass of amontillado and poking around on Netflix to see if there's anything the wife and i feel like staying up late for.....

I had to drive 2 hrs to the Target I just got hired at (right off campus) for my job orientation. Watched stupid, pointless videos that basically tell me to be polite and use my manners, which is how I was raised, for about three hours. And then another 2 hrs home. Then had dinner and caught up with some friends that I haven't seen in a few years.

Took a day off of riding to let this saddle sore heal up. Triple antibiotic cream has been good to me. Sad part was that today is the nicest day we've had in a while. Went jeans shopping. I hate when I lose/gain enough weight to need clothing of a new size, and when I go to the store the only things I like are in my former size. Also, I realized that I really need to ride more. I'm up a pant size...

Decided that my bag looked boring, so I cut a stencil. Tomorrow I'll spray the flap with this stuff to break up the endless field of yellow, and give the design a little texture. I think it's gonna look pretty good when I'm done.

It won't be anything nearly as fancy. I tend to go for a much blockier, monochromatic style. Also, I have no talent.

Today I watched "How I Met Your Mother" all day and spent four hours waiting for/eating wings (Thursdays are half off!).

Gotta get off my butt...

today i got the mold growing in my car's carpet shampooed out then went on a walk around the neighborhood with my dad for an hour. i also fixed the fenders and replaced the bolts but decided not to locktite them since i may have to take them off again tomorrow to fit them on the car rack.

yummygooey 12-30-11 02:04 AM

Solo?

Anything more than an hour long ride and I really prefer to ride with another person, even if the ride is in silence.

cc700 12-30-11 02:12 AM

oh i'm not biking down there. driving down with bike on rack. it would take my slow ass waaay more than five days to get there and back.

hopefully this summer i will do some epic tours in eastern wa, montana, maybe napa, and oregon.

but... well... that's kind of up in the air.

They always are. My Peugeot was only supposed to cost me $100 to refurb. That was about $300 ago.

Higher Class 12-30-11 09:36 AM

Spent $100 on a HR monitor, $50 on a mechanic's ratchet set, then an unexpected $450 to get my truck registered (I was expecting $250 TOPS). Then my road bike tire decided to develop a big ole bulb-like growth in the sidewall (during the most important 2-week period of training for the 2012 season), feels like it could pop any minute. I just posted a message on my team's bulletin board asking if anyone had a spare tire. They probably think I'm a junkie or something... lol.
