today I saw "Shame" with the gf, cleaned the chain on the cinelli, put tires on the wabi wheels and now I'm about to rewrap my compact drops and my bullhorns. going to keep the wabis on the mash until my open pros are ready

today... my bike finally came in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes!!!!!!!
on an impulse buy I bought a GTB bike. and I love it. Ive never rode on an AL frame but dayuuum its nice and responsive and super light!!! now to take it on a 60 mile ride through the east bay hills...well I know what im doing the rest of the year...Riding my bike!!!! |
Rode to work in ridiculous cold. Layered up so only fingers and toes hurt at the end of the ride. It snowed a little but stopped by the time I got off. Didn't realize that the streets looked clear because traffic mashed down the snow and turned it into ice in the sub freezing temps. I rode one block and promptly slipped out on black ice going around the corner. Bounced back up, spot checked the bike, and kept riding to the store to buy beer. Slipped out again on the way from the store to the train station, said "Ah screw it" and walked the last few blocks. Black ice sucks. None of my beers broke though. Cheers!

-finally- got the seat dialed in on the 722ts. from a**hatchet to butthugger just kicking the nose up a couple degrees.
then rode it like mad on the rollers. a buddy contacted me about a trip. he put my name on his party for a boar hunt! no guns. knives/spears and dogs only. apparently this also involves rappelling 300' at some point. can't wait. hoping that there will also be biking opportunities. :) |
Today I loaned my RD some tools to put together his longhaul trucker. I'm jelly. Some day I'll own a comfortable utilitarian bike. He says he's planning on doing a tour from Spokane to Ohio on it this summer. Sounds like fun!!
@RGNY - that sounds soooo badass. |

Good now though |
Today, my cassette finally came in, which means I have all the parts for my road bike build! I am going to work through the night (amongst school work) to try and finish my build for a ride tomorrow. It's supposed to be super sunny and 50 degrees! Perfect for a maiden voyage.

i grew up redneck/country/farmboy/etc., but i haven't been hunting since my teens/college. i've only eaten wild boar once and it was amazing. my parents used to bowhunt boar together, so i'm aware of the behavior/danger, but i can't wait to take one on w/o a gun. i worry about the doggies though, even if they are pitbulls in kevlar vests. i like dogs more than most people. when a dog bites you, you usually know why.... :) |
Today I found a thread on 4chan's /n/ called girls on bikes. It was awesome.
|
Today was spent at City Hall, our insurance agent's office, on the phone with the Dept. of Revenue and ended with painting the ceiling and scrubbing the floors at our new shop. I'm exhausted and can't wait until we're all moved in and fully operational.
|
I continue to find myself confounded by bike fit. Moved the saddle forward on my IRO like 1cm, and it was like my whole world got turned upside down. No more numb thumb, no hip pain, but now I have a sore ass.
Oh, and made myself a melted ham 'n' swiss. NOM. |

KMC K710 or KMC K710 SL? any difference in how fast the SL stretches due to the hollow pins? idrgaf about weight... i eat chains... sick of it |
talked to guy riding 46x13 brakeless. I half jokingly called him crazy.
I aligned the fork on my touring bike with all the alignment tools I didn't know we have at the co-op. No more sitting all crooked when letting go of the bars. |

Today I put on my new wheelset. Took a little longer because I had to change out rim tape too. The cog slipped on me my first time going down to A&M to some goldsprinting. Great night. |
Today I am depressed to the point that I had a hard time not walking in front of a bus that was coming toward me. I need to find a therapist. I just don't feel a reason to be alive.
|
Today I picked up my Rush from the LBS with the installed headset and fork. Went home to insert my Nitto Pearl, but it stops with about 2 inches of headtube to go and I have almost 3 inches of quill sticking above the headset. I went back to my LBS and they said my fork was double butted, so it starts to bulge toward the bottom of the fork and that's what's stopping the stem from going down any further :(
I have a Nitto Jag stem that fits fine because the insertion length is about a inch shorter than Pearl, but the clamp diameter is 25.4mm and won't fit my RB021s. I'll probably call my LBS tomorrow and see if they can cut down the base of my Pearl. |

Talk to whoever you need to man. Depression isn't a joke.
I've always dealt with depression, but for the last few months it's been pretty ok. These past few days though... My god. |
Talking to someone really helps. Even if they don't tell you anything useful, it allows you to vent. I've done it before and it made me feel better. I was never on medication, but I was told I had major depression. The past two months have been great though. I feel like a different person than when I was for the previous eight months. It gets better man. Even though it may be hard, try doing the things you really enjoy. Being active helps by getting your mind off the problems.

Today I realized England's pretty cool, but the usd-gbp currency conversion is the equivalent of prison **** to your wallet.
Yesterday, I realized the English people fu-king suck. No wonder they use the c-word so much to describe each other. |
