Had aspirations of doing a 50mi Paradise Loop in the Marin Headlands but never made it to due to being hung-the-****-over after last night's company holiday party. Guinness, Crown on the rocks (many), champagne, wine, cocktails, etc etc. Needless to say it turned into a lazy Sunday. :|

Got back on the health kick. Started a new gym membership with the wife, we did 20 mins of cardio on the bikes and then did a complete arm and shoulder workout. I'm super-pumped.

What happened to the percussion?

Today I went over the handlebars (thanks to the wonderful drivers of Seattle) but my feet were still in the straps so my whole bike came with me. Needless to say I'm going to be helmet shopping these next few days while my legs heal

(yesterday and this weekend) Volunteered at a local 2-day cross race, ended up getting talked into racing the second day. I had never even ridden a cross bike before.. lol. Watched some Youtube videos about mounting and dismounting, then borrowed a teammate's (really nice... Spooky with Rival and 40mm carbon tubies) cross bike and gave it a wack. Men's Cat 4's (beginner class)... came in 8th of 20! Really, really happy!

Congrats man! I've always wanted to try CX. I am just too ***** :(

Just do it man! The atmosphere was really informal... it's like the punk rock of bicycle racing. Everyone was really welcoming and supportive. As always, the beginner category gets split up between triathlete sandbaggers and true beginners, so I was really just racing one guy for 8th. We had a good talk afterward. Made a bunch of new friends, and felt really encouraged to do it again.
