Har har har it sure costs money to have this kind of shwaggμr to getz all the hipstr girls and fixed gear sqrls.

I have seen it on other Mavic eyeletted rims. Not sure if it is the rim or spoke tension exceeding rim specs

Eyeletted rims were always prone to cracking with low spoke counts and high spoke tension, which is why they have pretty much gone the way of the dinosaurs just like shallow box rims have as well. Modern eyeletteless rims are thicker at the nipple holes to prevent rim cracking.

I really want to do this sometime. Looks like so much fun. I think my Boss would be cool with me coming in late or something too.

There is a SF to SJ group ride going down on the 19th, a Sunday. It's organized by SJFixed. I went last year and we took the baytrail most of the way down.

Yep :)

I cheat and take the work shuttle back to the city though ;) One of these days I'll do the ride back but it's just sooooo headwindy.

I saw that. I may or may not join. I'm not up for a 40mi mash fest just yet, haven't quite gotten my lungs/legs back. First Fridays with SF2G is super casual IIRC.

Hahaha. Only on short climbs since you don't have a choice, you have to mash them to stay on top of the gear and maintain momentum ;)

A buddy called me to help him check out a used pair of Omnomnoms. I JUST HAPPENED to have a GXP BB tool, so I helped him install it too. Super easy.

Then I noticed that he had a 3" crack running down the left blade of his carbon fork. Whoops.

Nagrom_ 02-03-12 05:05 PM

whoops is right...

have you ridden an s3x before?
if you have, care to gimme the deets?
and if you haven't, after you do, I'd like to hear about it.

I think the idea of an s3x.

Dannihilator 02-03-12 05:25 PM

Never have, but have been intrigued by it, I definitely will do so when I get it built. I like the idea of it using a cassette style cog and having an adjustable chainline. Just need to figure out rim and whether I want to run the shifter on the bar end or on the downtube.

It was just unfortunate that after putting in the work to break his chain, change out his cog, and install a new BB/crankset, he couldn't ride it cuz his fork is trashed.

Just letting you guys know that I'm still around. Between working a 70 hour week, meeting with potential investors, and my hectic social life, I haven't had much time to sleep much less post here.

Today I went on a real easy 30 mile ride.

Today I sold some parts.

Today I ate too much crap (chili dogs, microwave dinner, Irish nachos, sammich with two eggs (among other things) and chicken wings).

Today I got into whiskey (still a beer guy at heart though).

I wish. It's mainly slight cross/head wind with spots of neutrality. Tailwinds are pretty rare traveling south in the morning.
