I'm from Buffalo so of course I'm making wings, but there's also gonna be veggie chili, a fried turkey and other fried things (please god don't let my house burn down), pies, cupcakes, birthday cake, homemade pretzels and chips and dips and things, TONS of homebrew... I really should have taken tomorrow off work.

Yeah, as Kaz said, I'm turning 27 today. So far I've received a new floor pump, a dvd, a cd, a shirt, a fifth of Bulleit bourbon, a fifth of Johnny Walker Black, and I know I'm getting plugs later. Also, I'm starting a half-sleeve in a little over an hour. It will he a good birthday. My contribution to her party is trail mix I made at work with house-cured pork belly, smoked cashews and pistachios, gummy bears, chocolate chips, and foie gras salt.

I watched Party Down today. It's amazing. I love this kind of comedy.

One of the best shows ever. The aspiring writer guy showed up on Parks & Recreation this week.

And there have been some possible movie rumors.

EDIT: I checked out imdb and it has a Party Down movie entry with a 2013 release up now!!!!

today my front derailuer slipped down but i didnt know, kept shifting, so it had to scrape and jump OVER the big chainring to be on the right side of it. did that for 10 miles. gg chainring. fk road bikes. someone sell me a 7800 50T compact ring? =>

LesterOfPuppets 02-05-12 12:27 PM

Today I'm hurting from the first time in years I've climbed to an elevation over 1000' and also first time in a while I did some man's work - leveling ground and framing a firewood shed. I want to play video games but I think my arm's too sore. :(

Sorry mucky, only spare rings I have are Sugino M-type 144mm in 52 and 42T and a Biopace 130mm 42T

Today I:

http://app.strava.com/rides/3908523

But the Strava app drains my iPhone battery too fast, so I had to shut down the ride and finish it early. It was an out and back, so the ride was actually a little over 60 miles, instead of the 38.6 that Strava shows. That max speed is pretty lolz too. Damn Strava. Also, it was my first ride with this triathlon guy that I knew, and I had a great time dropping him repeatedly once we passed about the 35 mile mark. I'd get a couple minutes ahead, then stop and wait for him to catch up. Then repeat it again as soon as we got going.

Anyway, it was a great ride through oh so photogenic Louisiana:

which one matters more? if a shop did it should i never go to it again? which means im again on my own? fml

hairnet 02-05-12 04:50 PM

Well, if a shop did then you can assume they didnt use a torque wrench set for Shimano's spec., which kind of makes them liable. Not everyone uses torque wrenches, thats cool if you work on your own bike but not very professional for a shop.

Also, setting aside possible danage to your expensive parts, what if it caused the chain to drop and you to crash?

Scrodzilla 02-05-12 04:55 PM

Derailleurs man, why?

yea i was so worried too. hate gears. i learned that one trick yesterday where if your chain drops left of the small ring, you can shift up to the big ring and it'll go back on! great tip! but i still wonder if that's bad for something

also, what is the shimano torque requirement for the 31.8 clamp on adapter for the brazon 7800 dura ace front derailure? i guess i can google... but... =<

also sorry about talking gears on this subforum. im so sorry. such a downer.

Come again? I don't speak French.

Dannihilator 02-05-12 05:35 PM

Today I had a good road ride.

LesterOfPuppets 02-05-12 07:48 PM

Today I learned about this crazy 200km ice skating race in the Netherlands. Apparently some spots only need 5cm thicker ice and they can run it:

FakeFuji 02-05-12 10:15 PM

Seems fun, except I ****ing hate ice skating. Growing up in Vermont and falling in the ice as you snow fish= no trust ice.

PluperfectArson 02-06-12 03:56 AM

realized that I don't really know all the best spots to ride around to down here in Hawaii.

I'm going to be here for four years, someone hit me up.

jimmytango 02-06-12 04:09 AM

You know what? I think today was the best birthday ever. I also think that if I didn't have autocorrect on my phone, this would be unintelligible...

cc700 02-06-12 04:43 AM

happy birthday!

LesterOfPuppets 02-06-12 09:04 AM

+1 happy birthday wango tango!

ddeadserious 02-06-12 09:05 AM

Today, I didn't ride my bike to work this morning, despite how good of an idea it sounded like last night.

Jaytron 02-06-12 10:29 AM

Yesterday I went riding around SF again with Jandro. Short ride. California seems to be confused as to what season it's supposed to be in.

Street rider 02-06-12 11:10 AM

The weathers weird here too. A few weeks ago we hit 50 and sunny, and then a day or two later is was in the mid 20's.

nuhtowel 02-06-12 12:59 PM

Today sucks because its a monday. I have to wake up early, cancer and stat classes, go to work all afternoon, go to a biochem class, book it home for dinner, book it back to campus for a 3 hour speech class.

which is all fine, but I have a flat :(
