Clearly the most logical solution.

People are stupid.

It's a weird thing, bikers give me the salute when I'm rolling down the street, but ****ing kids want to try to hassle me all the time. I've had one kid shout in my ear to try to scare me off a bike path as I'm rolling by, I've had another shout and throw a plastic bottle at me while I was riding past his house (which was hilarious, because his mom saw him from the window and smacked him across the mouth), and then this kid. All middle school/early high school, and all scrawny little bastards too. Maybe it's one of those things where because they're so MUCH smaller than me, they think there's no way I'd kick their ass. They're kinda right, too.

Happened to a friend playing bike polo. Straddle cable broke on his ****ty mountain bike, he was hustling cross-court to get the ball, did the Fred Flintstone to no avail. Flipped rightover a pony wall, it was HILARIOUS.

Today I had a decent roller session and rode to the bank. I really need to invest in a fan. With all my windows open and the heat off my room is still 70 degrees when it's 40 outside. Gotta love living in an old dorm with a ridiculously powerful heating system.

yummygooey 01-04-12 05:58 PM

My freshman year I lived right above some sort of boiler room, so in addition to the ridiculously powerful heating system and that my room was like a friggin sauna. My window was open for most of the cold season.

it's just that age when you know everything, will live forever and are indestructible. i remember those days, but i never tested the indestructible to that extent.

Today I:

Have been looking for a new set of brake levers for a future upgrade on the Stop Cycles... I didn't know Tektro made a brake lever with integrated bell...

heh, kids don't care. i have a boxing heavy bag hung up in the back yard. i'll be working it (see pic) and there's a pack of 12-15 year old boys that yell stuff like "now kiss it with tongue" and "i bet your boyfriend likes that". when i was growing up, if i'd done that to an adult, i'd have been beaten by both that adult and my father. times change, now kids know they can have you in jail real quick if you go after them.....

Finished building my bike, put the new handlebars and brake hoods on and serviced my rear hub. Good day.

I was used to pro studio 2, and when i went back into my highschool to observe/visit, they'd upgraded to X. Its so awful. The range of stuff that you can do is so completely limited from what it used to be. I am disappoint.

Today I received my fork from Scrod. Went to my LBS to go get my headset and fork installed, but I have to come back tomorrow to pick it up. So close to a finished bike :D

That bell sounds like dropping a nickel on the ground.

Rode to work in ridiculous cold. Layered up so only fingers and toes hurt at the end of the ride. It snowed a little but stopped by the time I got off. Didn't realize that the streets looked clear because traffic mashed down the snow and turned it into ice in the sub freezing temps. I rode one block and promptly slipped out on black ice going around the corner. Bounced back up, spot checked the bike, and kept riding to the store to buy beer. Slipped out again on the way from the store to the train station, said "Ah screw it" and walked the last few blocks. Black ice sucks. None of my beers broke though. Cheers!

-finally- got the seat dialed in on the 722ts. from a**hatchet to butthugger just kicking the nose up a couple degrees.

then rode it like mad on the rollers.

a buddy contacted me about a trip. he put my name on his party for a boar hunt! no guns. knives/spears and dogs only. apparently this also involves rappelling 300' at some point. can't wait. hoping that there will also be biking opportunities. :)

EpicSchwinn 01-05-12 03:22 PM

Today I loaned my RD some tools to put together his longhaul trucker. I'm jelly. Some day I'll own a comfortable utilitarian bike. He says he's planning on doing a tour from Spokane to Ohio on it this summer. Sounds like fun!!

@RGNY - that sounds soooo badass.

Today, my cassette finally came in, which means I have all the parts for my road bike build! I am going to work through the night (amongst school work) to try and finish my build for a ride tomorrow. It's supposed to be super sunny and 50 degrees! Perfect for a maiden voyage.
