Today I

Went on my first "real" ride since the clavicle break. Also got my buddy to ride after 2 years of letting his bike rot. We rode out to Morgan Hill from SJ, and stopped by my friend's parent's house and they fed us steaks.

Last night was a good time.

Started the ride with a buddy from Queens and into Brooklyn - stopped at this coffee shop called Kave Espresso that is a hidden gem. Definitely a cool spot and great coffee. Then rode throughout Brooklyn and met with a few more friends - grabbed dinner at this taco place and then desert at this cupcake place. All in all about a 40 mile ride (glad my iMapmyride was activated to tracking - sacaraism).

Definitely going back to the taco place. Between the girls and the food, I'm in.

Woke up to the cat puking on the bed at 5am. Drove to Denny's at 6am. Ended up going the wrong way down a one-way street. Nearly got *****.

I'm going back to sleep.

How long were you off the bike? It sounds like you had a bad break, seems like a long time. I was back riding 4 weeks after I broke my clavicle (broke in 3 pieces) but it's still not fully healed, it's been 7 months since my crash.

The doctor said forcing the issue would likely make things worse, because of all the vibration from riding on the street. At 8 weeks I was in the trainer with the sling off, then at 9 I was riding around the roads. Mine also broke in 3 pieces. Did you get surgery? That speeds up recovery time by a bunch.

No surgery, mines was a weird break and but felt fine after 4 weeks. doc gave me ok to ride as long as it didn't hurt or make it worse. Glad to hear you're back riding

Didn't have time to ride this weekend... but I went to a bike swap!

Didn't find ****.

What size TV is that?

I'm in the market for a TV for a smallish room and that looks to be an approximately perfect size.

Church. Sam's Club. Tweaked the commuter a bit. Drank some cabernet and thought about lighting up one of my Key West cigars...didn't since momma doesn't really approve! Posted here. Overall: a wasted day! Well worth the effort. :D

Bought a Transformer Prime. Doing the fat kid with cake dance.

Finally passed a fixed gear on the bike path today (someone give me a cookie?). I've passed plenty of roadies, but I've never caught up to a fixed guy/girl, if there's even a fixed to catch up to on this path. Had a nice ride and discovered a path that might be my go-to ride on Sundays.

Nagrom_ 01-29-12 07:01 PM

Today I got a nice road ride in. Also ordered a pair of chain tensioners, and I sniped a 14t DA cog on eBay for $15.

My brother just came buy with his 4 year old son. They then proceeded to illustrate the largest drawing of Jurassic Park I've ever seen, on my 6'x4' whiteboard.

In Sharpie.

Today I woke up feeling good, watched some of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, then went and put in an easy 30 miles.
