yeah, sounds tough. i kind of did the same here in seattle but with group rides instead of coops. our coops are all non-profit advocacy groups so not really hangout spots.
all the same, glad to hear you're finding more people you can hang with. i wouldn't want to be in kansas.

Today I helped my uncle rip up his kitchen floor (tiling) for a replacement wood floor next week. That was pretty fun.
And a little later, I plan to ride and meet up with an old friend of mine for a few drinks.

Today I only put clothes on to go grocery shopping. In all, I only wore clothes for about 1 hour today. Win.

I just love it when business trips coincide so well. My wife is in town and staying with me for 2 weeks!
On another note I just hand washed my car for the 1st time in half a year. I also hand waxed it and then my vigorelli too for that finishing touch!

I cleaned my bike after a solid winters worth of riding. This chainring is so dirty, and so is the bottom of the down tube.
Also wrapped up some bullhorns with Lizard Skin tape. I picked some up at REI after all the praise they've been receiving.

Today I had my dad pick up a immaculate used 2008 caad9 for 650 bucks, went to lunch with Brian Bell of Weezer (my favorite band), then went to the concert for free. Today was a good day.

Today I went to Bikefest and scored a bunch of schwag and built myself a new single speed / coaster bike although it goes too damn fast to rely on a British made speed attenuator / coaster hub and really needs a front brake.
Frame, fork, and the crank were a gift... took me all of an hour to build her up and get out for a 20km test spin.

Old peugeots make awesome conversions. They absorb nearly every bump in the road! Plus they look NJS; I had a jaguar stem and b123's at one time on my at one time commuter corbier for sheitz and giggles, and people were asking me if it was NJS.

today I got a shorter stem for my bike after riding with a 110mm stem with rb-021's haha. feels way better, I can finally bend my elbows a bit without being in a super aero position haha

The Carbolite frames have a slightly stiffer feel than the pre 80's frames but the long wheelbase and slack angles combine to make a very nice riding bike that is exceptionally stable.

TODAY I(Yesterday) Woke up did some errands went to my LBS bought a new backpack stuffed it with books and food and water and hit the MTN bike trails at Lake Chabot. Did a CAT-3 hill climb in the Redwoods then mashed down to Berkeley where I enjoyed great music. Then I hit up the Bay Trail by Ashby, all the way back to Hayward. It was a total of 52 miles not including what I had done earlier on the day ~5. Overall it was a great day to be on a bike. and the new set up was perfect=except the new turbo saddle that was a fail.

Yesterday I woke up at 4:30 am to do Bike the Drive (they close down the lake front highway to car traffic and let bikes ride almost the whole length and back - about 30 miles total, plus 5 miles getting to/from the north end and our house). Then we came home, showered, and prepped for what turned out to be an epic memorial day/housewarming party. Crazy thunderstorms cleared up just in time and tons of people came over and we grilled food and drank beer and lit up the fire pit later in the evening and roasted marshmallows.
Twice during the evening several of us ended up in the basement (where we keep our bikes and those that rode here stashed theirs) and totally geeked out about bikes. I <3 my friends.

Today I rode behind a rather slow inline skater for about 10 minutes on a bike path to admire her shapely bum and legs.
