Today I:

TODAY I(Yesterday) Woke up did some errands went to my LBS bought a new backpack stuffed it with books and food and water and hit the MTN bike trails at Lake Chabot. Did a CAT-3 hill climb in the Redwoods then mashed down to Berkeley where I enjoyed great music. Then I hit up the Bay Trail by Ashby, all the way back to Hayward. It was a total of 52 miles not including what I had done earlier on the day ~5. Overall it was a great day to be on a bike. and the new set up was perfect=except the new turbo saddle that was a fail.

Instead of going for a ride this memorial day, I caught up on some quality time with the mrs. over a beachfront lunch following a scenic open top drive. Going to watch hangover 2 later.

Hopped over to the shop today to change cranks: When replacing the accident-damaged parts, they installed 155mm cranks which were quite ridiculous - I'm 1.88m tall and ride 175mm on freewheels, and 165mm is the shortest I can go in the name of pedal strike. Shame, because they were pretty darn good (old Miche Pista) and the 44t ring was a change I rather liked. The new ones are some odd unbranded 42t+crank set, but it gets the job done and looks pretty.
While at the shop, I looked in awe as a pretty girl picked up her fixed-gear from repair: A frame exactly like mine (identical lugs, etc - probably the same Raleigh-built frame), powdercoated pink with white lugs, chain, seat and tape, and two short, thin pegs anodized pink on the rear hub.
Just as I got home, I got a lesson from my mother (an experienced triathlete and ironwoman) on quick tyre-changing in the field, ahead of my first triathlon this weekend. I then set out for my own ride and behold - I picked up a flat of my own. The municipality hasn't bothered with cleaning up the mess left by the holidays two weeks ago - barbequeing in the parks and all - but instead chose to cut the dry grass, adding tiny thorns to the existing mix of glass-shards and plastic debris strewn through bike-paths. I had troubles discerning what exactly was responsible for my puncture, since I had a thorn and two pieces of glass wedged in the tyre.
However, it was a swell opportunity to practice my newfound tyre-changing proficiency - pleasingly quick - and get back in time for an Italian restaurant.

went around without a helmet finding new paths to rich neighborhoods and parks going all out on cross tires in gravel and then sprinting like a total **** on the MUT passing slow cyclists instead of resting up getting over my cold, cleaning and attending birthday parties on my day off.

Today I slept in, then rode to the lakefront beach/park and chilled with some people. Now we're in the backyard again grilling brats and veggie skewers and I'm lamenting that it's 9pm already and work is tomorrow.

I rode to a friends house to watch a movie. Probably just 1 mile and I was completely drenched. Dang humidity

No worries. I like it every now again but a pack will last several months and by then it's stale

still, no worries. I don't like to smoke that much. I would prefer to smoke a bowl but even that I don't do very often at all.

Had a barbeque at the co-op, drank some beers, and broke out the good tequila. We made our way inside to watch A Game of Thrones, and I spent an hour at home talking my wife off a ledge.

Today I worked on bikes all day and when I wasn't doing that I was mowing the lawn and shopping for groceries.
Also cleaned out my fridge... that was scary.

Today I:
Met a guy with one of those Carbon frames off eBay... He said he has had it since christmas, has seen one other on the road, and loves it! Wasn't as light as I'd have guessed, but it felt solid, and looked legit! He had it specked with Rival... felt like it weighted as much as my Leader.
If I had an extra $$$ and a hankering for a new frame, I'd definitely try one out.
