You got a mayo and sprouts sandwich at Jimmy John's? That sounds like the worst thing anyone could ever eat.

avner 06-10-11 01:41 AM

today is my 4th day of being pretty sick. Managed to get through a full work day though. But it reminds me of one important thing. The line between medicinal and recreational use of cough syrup is very thin for me.

Leukybear 06-10-11 02:34 AM

Went shopping at the largest mall down here with my significant other = inhumane mental torture anyone?

Funny I just realized the other day that rockstar 2X energy tastes like children's grape dimetapp... don't ask, it's my wife's cold medicine of choice/ caliber of strength.

That's what all their sandwiches are man. Mayo and sprouts. And a little bit of meat if you look hard enough under all that mayo.

I'm just joking around. I got a Big John with everything. It's pretty tasty (even with all the mayo).

Today I am sitting at this desk and I want to ride my bike.

Happy Birthday! Why not treat yourself with a birthday gift of an indoor trainer? :thumb:

Thank the glorious thunderstorm (complete with tornado warnings and sirens) last night for making today's weather nothing short of brilliant. It had been so hot this week. I woke up at 3AM for a short ride and had a wonderful time. As soon as I'm done working, this day will be assimilated.

ianjk 06-10-11 10:57 AM

Stripped an axle nut on my front wheel, had to ride with only one side secure for 1.5 miles to go pick up my car from a night of partying. Didn't die.

^ I feel that. When I used to get sick and they'd give me codeine cough syrup, I'd save it all and soak my blunt wraps in it.

Today I am torn between being pleased that it's payday and annoyed that I'm not riding my bike. And wholly displeased that I'm stuck behind a desk.

Just ordered this for my lady.

TejanoTrackie 06-10-11 12:26 PM

Had hernia surgery. Still a bit groggy from the meds, so I'll keep it brief. Just wanted y'all to know it all went w/o a hitch, but I'll be off the bike for a few weeks and no hard efforts for 6 weeks per the doc's orders. Anyways, this will give me a chance to work on my colorways.

Love - TT.

Get well soon man! At least it all went smooth.

As for me I did 36 miles on the Samson today. I REALLY need to change the bars on it. I rode from my place in North Bergen across the GWB, down the greenway to the staten island ferry and back. It was a great ride!

Loop across 2 states FTW! Sounds like a great route.

Today I learned the office theme song on my ukulele, and got all three of my constructed transformed into bacteria with GFP

Leukybear 06-10-11 03:37 PM

Agh let's just say I rather take a final than have to grade them.... and that I grade my best when I'm drunk.

Today I saw a bianchi san jose with black spokes on yellow rims and hubs at the place where i go rock climbing in raleigh nc, and I may suspect they are a bikeforums poster, that bike looked familiar

yummygooey 06-10-11 10:30 PM

Today I finished my father's day gift (more or less).

And also started looking into buying a project car.

Hm...

EpicSchwinn 06-11-11 01:41 AM

Today I put my thickslicks on. It is now much harder to skid... I guess that will stop me from blowing through tires.

Right now... Porsche 944, 80s BMW 325, 60s/70s muscle.

I'll most likely skip the 60s/70s muscle (this time around...) because I won't have enough time to get one up and running by the end of the summer. The idea is to find something driveable that I can sort of continuously work on in small chunks.

Some people think this is dumb, but I think an older 325 with an LS1 dropped in would be ridiculously awesome because of the weight distribution across the four wheels. The handling of a BMW + the power of AMERICA! But again, that doesn't look like something I could handle in a relatively short period of time since I'm essentially starting from a car maintenance knowledge level of 1% (I can change engine oil). I also don't have an engine lift, but pretty much every other coworker I work with does...
