Bikes: 49cm Pake Steel Track 2010

We got some bikes back from the insurance! They weren't in as bad of condition as bad as I thought. They were smoke stained and scuffed from being thrown over and things falling on them, but we had some cleaner that cleaned them up pretty good. They ended up giving back my Pake, my Scrambler, my dad's Felt cruiser, and his Schwinn cruiser. They ended up keeping my dad's 2 Kleins, his Scott Speedster, my mom's Klein, and her 1965 Schwinn. All of those got a little burnt up and charred by the flames, but the insurance company said that they will try and restore them. They said they had some special cleaners that would take care of it. Lets see what happens.

Today I found out my exam started 30min earlier than I believed (my fault, derp). Prof. was cool and I get to take it tomorrow. At a coffee shop pulling an allnighter since being in public usually keeps me up. I'm listening to Umphrey's McGee, Mantis, on a genius playlist. I ordered a 16oz dark with a shot. Black.

I'm on adderall and procrastinating. I'll play nice if you guys do the same.

Put pics of your new place up, man. I just moved and I love the feeling. Even though moving boxes upstairs sucks.

You better have a legitimate reason to take it aside from staying up to cram.

Marketing exam. I lucked out and got to talk to someone after they took it since I'm making it up. She was practically in tears. I lucked out not taking it at the scheduled time.

The guy's class herpaderp. It pretty much is **** ton of info on powerpoint and text, and he just bull****s in class and talks about raccoons and keebler elves. I really wish I could say I am making this up. Tenured professors (not hating) seem to lose their motivation, but not this guy. Super enthused, but teaches awfully.

Today I rode clipless for the first time and it was amazing. Also no tip-overs/unclip failures and my first attempted track stand at a light was a success.

Did you fall over?

Everyone tells me that practically every time someone tries to unclip for the first time, they usually fall. I feel like I would practice against a wall and get it perfect so I can dial up the tension and not every worry about clipping out.

Was the performance increase noticeable? I'm on the fence. My sylvans are falling apart because the cage is riveted and not fastened by threads. Instead of dropping the $100 whatever on Royal Nuevos, I'm think just save up for some, you guessed it, Dura Ace pedals.

What shoes do you rock?

I did not fall over. My shoes came in the mail today, and I was too eager to ride, so I didn't really dial in the tension or cleat position. I sort of just threw them on there and clipped in/out maybe 3 times to see how the system worked before I went out on my ride. I picked up a pair of Exustar SR221's from Nashbar. They only ran me $47 shipped and they have a carbon fiber sole. They only have small sizes left though. I believe I've seen them on ebay being sold for $60-70.

Noticeable performance increase. Not as much of a gain as I had thought, but definitely better than my clip/strap setup on first impression.

Here's a pic.

I keep seeing these ridiculous Mavic shoes pop up on BT every so often. I usually throw a pair in the cart, but I have never pulled the trigger.

Next time I see those pop up, I'm going for it. In white/black. I am just not cool enough for bright yellow shoes.
