Today my knee still hurts, but my stomach is fine. My wife walked in on me having a mental breakdown before work. I'm finally going to a shrink Monday and I'm scared ****less.

Today I got a job offer I couldn't refuse, so I didn't refuse it.

You should do fine in the mob.

Today I put in a hilly 80 miles. Got a runners high on a bike, and it felt right, so I didn't stop.

first close call of the year today.

same as all the others. some prick making a left hand turn didn't check the opposing lane before going. all of my friends in town that have been hit were hit in the same scenario. middle finger administered in front of a yard full of six-year-olds on recess. oops.

Lost my keys on a ride back from a restaurant. Bummed because I have to replace a car key fob that I am sure is pretty expensive.

I wish I had a projectile launcher for these situations.

sometimes I'd like to have a couple of bumper stickers in my handlebar bag, ready to go, that say "SUCKS AT DRIVING"

gigantor 03-30-12 07:18 PM

Haha.. A bumper sticker that is very very hard to remove.

So . . . all bumper stickers?

gigantor 03-30-12 07:25 PM

Some are more difficult to remove than others.

Today I dusted off and went for a ride on my vigorelli along the oakland hills, the last time I rode the poor thing was at hellyer last year! Tweeked the fit and swapped over clips & cages as I didn't bring my sidis over here. Would've been a fun ride except, I paid the ultimate price for overlooking the b123's and letting it slide after realizing it in front my house.

*NOTE: I'm not sorry for the NDS pic. Some days it just doesn't make any sense to be on the good side, plus free COOKIES!

The ride worked out pretty well as I realized the pressure gauge had chosen to stop working after some 40+ odd years on my trusty silca pista. So I ended up picking up a replacement at the only shop that carried them in stock which was conveniently located in Oakland.

Yup, Taiwan.... it's a shame it's the only non - italian part on the pump; the pump is made of columbus tubing through.

Sherblock 03-30-12 10:31 PM

Sometimes I try to convince myself my b123's will be comfortable. Then my hands start to hurt and I put bullhorns back on.

Jaytron 03-30-12 11:05 PM

Today I switched my 722 from commuter mode to track mode for the last time. No more commuting with the leader.

Changed tires, cog, bars, and cleaned/oiled the chain.

Sherblock 03-30-12 11:11 PM

Jay should buy my b123AA's. right.

Win on replacing pressure gauge for a 40 year old pump.

My "Joe Blow" failed on me after 3 years. Pissed.

Today I put together my gfs Terry. lighting is terrible but everything about the bike seemed really nice. competitive cyclist also shipped it like a boss, never seen so much cardboard.

Today I did did my second sprint triathlon ever with a fellow co-worker and nice dude. He did the swim (800 meters) and I ended u doing, not only the ride, but also the run. Barefoot.

Our third partner decided to blow us off and I didn't expect it, so I only brought the bike and cleats. Needless to say, my feet are bleeding - but we got **** done.

I blew people up as I took down guys on P4s for fun. Sometimes it just pays to learn to spin on a FG. Minimal winds so I went all out and hammered. Told my wife, I rode up past a female police officer in the event and dropped a SUP SQRL for Jaytron. She just grunted, so I didn't bother to ask for the Gray Richie Rich Mustard.

Then I got home and as I took out my FGDevil, noticed I had a quarter inch slice in my front tire. Slime did its job, obviously, because I didn't notice it until I got on the bike and heard the telltale whistle of a good puncture.

So I drove to work.

Strava or it didn't happen.

Looks like a cool little bike. 650c front, right? What did you pay for it?

LesterOfPuppets 03-31-12 01:56 PM

If that's a new one, the 650c ones have both as 650c.

42 x 50 size has 24" front (ISO 520)/700c rear wheels; 42 x 52 size has 650c wheels (ISO 571) front and rear; all other sizes have 700c wheels front and rear.

There are always giveaways on the Terry site. She gave away a bike a little while ago, but I didn't win. Bike tour right now, so meh, but...
