Maker Faire today was great! Calfee was there... omg. He had a track bike out, and this beautiful tandem, which was full carbon, full red, disc brakes, and had a belt drive. Just so, so hot. Also his dropouts are amazing.

Also, I played a banana.

Today I crashed... to the bozo that threw random bits of lumber all over the road... f you and the horse you rode in on.

If I had not been laying by bike hard into a corner I could have rode over things or bunny hopped but hit a piece of debris with my front wheel and lost it.

Today I went on a ride from SF to Maker's Faire. Was awesome. Bummed that one of the riders got cut off RIGHT when we got there, she went down and banged her knee pretty good, ended up leaving in the ambulance. :C

I did that big group ride from Delores park that they do every year. y u no know?

Some people made the mistake of following me. My "group" started off with like 30 people, then we lost a few coming out of the city, by the time we hit the airport, there were 8 other people besides me that were barely hanging on. I felt bad, so I waited. We were so far ahead that if they got dropped then, they would have just been lost. I was on the low geared kilo tt too. I also kinda took us off course. TIL that z3 for me is pain cave for some people :C

jimmytango 05-20-12 12:49 AM

I just spent 12 hours in a hot kitchen sweating my ass off. Now I'm gonna go spend a few hours on the dance floor sweating my ass off.

Sqrl and I left around 3:30, it was uncomfortably hot and we just wanted to get back to the city at that point. Hahaha.

Went to Zeitgeist, but it was CRAZY packed, so we ended up hanging out at Delores park for a bit. ****ing romantic.

There was some chick so drunk at the park, that she was stumbling with a friend with her eyes closed, wearing only a bra and yoga pants.

Every part of that day sounds amazing...

And I forgot to mention... I got a kit to make one of those boxes that turns itself off.

LOL We totally looked at that! Almost bought it, because useless stuff is awesome.

We had no bags though so we didn't buy much. I also got my shirt screen printed. Pretty sweeeet:

I KNOW CALFEE IS AMAZING!

Did you see the tron light bike game? It was so amazingly fun.

For all of those not cool enough to come to maker faire... It was a multiplayer game with real bikes that you pedaled an turned to play light bikes.

Are you sure? What if I were to hammer steel and diamond? Which one shatters while the other is malleable?

jimmytango 05-20-12 02:11 AM

Jesus Christ I haven't danced in a goth club in years. This is exhausting.

This is important because Jay's gonna drope the hammer, dial it up to 900 watts, and pass a guy that looks like lance, and a chick in flip flops and a bikini on a cervelo.

Those kids go ****ing hard.

yummygooey 05-20-12 09:21 AM

Yesterday I got double tricked into riding 75 miles (trick 1) to fix 90 kid's bmx bikes (trick 2). I bonked so hard at the end and got dropped. The ride was proof that a banana and 1.5 slices of banana bread don't provide enough energy for a whole day of riding. jdg is a monster and pulled 35 miles at 20mph, though. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

But jdg's wife made us SO MUCH foods when we got back. Eat all the pizzas!

$100 credit at LBS too! Yay!

craigcraigcraig 05-20-12 09:34 AM

I would like to eat all the pizzas pls.

swisscheese 05-20-12 09:36 AM

Today, im kinda pissed. All of my friends are taking cool road trips/biking trips and I have to stay at home and go to summer class on campus.

Could be biking to Seattle, could be biking in Alaska, could be biking to cleveland. Nope, stuck at home with a broken bike.

yummygooey 05-20-12 09:58 AM

eff skool, come to seattle!

jdgesus 05-20-12 11:29 AM

Yesterday I decided to postpone Eastern Oregon tour a week or so because of some below freezing overnight forecasts . Today I'm wishing I woulda went anyways so I could be on the dry side of the mountains.

Leukybear 05-20-12 11:39 AM

Today my lips are killing me; I cannot open my mouth half way without pain from the flesh around my mouth tightening and buckling. I want to rip them off and toss them out the window. Never forget the all to important and often overlooked lip balm w/ SPF on summer days. /feels bad bro
