I got one on the way to school a while back. San Jose is PACKED with dispensaries.

gigantor 05-18-12 06:24 PM

And now I know why Nagrom loves mcdonalds so much.

Today I rode my fIxiE to meetup with Jaytron and another friend to eat at "off the grid", a weekly meeting place of various food trucks.

I shot a video of a bromantic french fry offering. There was live swanky music. Dude singing sounded a bit like Gil Scott Heron.

xavier853 05-18-12 07:25 PM

Today,

Went for a 35 mile ride. Destroyed my time from downtown to this little lake I like to ride to ~10 miles. Just a sprint I like to do while out on my ride. Was flying. feels good man!

jimmytango 05-18-12 07:56 PM

I just tried explaining velodrome racing to a coworker. He said it was NASCAR for hipsters.

hairnet 05-18-12 08:20 PM

ok, tell him it predates Nascar by like 80 years and stock car racing by about 50 years. I guess that's more hipster

Jared. 05-18-12 08:29 PM

Yesterday I got a flat, so today I...

-patched the tube
-mounted my current tires (Paselas) on my old rims
-snapped both of my tire levers trying to mount Vittoria Randos on my Wabi wheels (still not mounted)
-realized I need a spare cog/lockring and some metal levers, maybe that Kool Stop tire bead jack
-removed/covered all the ugly branding on my Moto Messenger, and have yet to decide if I made it uglier

ok, from someone that grew up between Trout Creek and Chipmunk Hollow (not even kidding) and was wandering fields with their own rifle at 9 years old shooting woodchucks, NASCAR is for sellouts that aren't willing to 'keep it real' and race on dirt. :P :)

ImChris 05-18-12 08:54 PM

Picked this up to replace my Madone.

Today I felt like running.

Dannihilator 05-18-12 09:38 PM

Today I got in a quick road ride in before cutting grass, then went to put in a street ride and was getting pestered by a click/creaking sound. Wound up being a broken fixing nut on the axle on the rear wheel. Went for sushi, then got home and addressed it.

hamfoh 05-18-12 09:58 PM

today did a social ride, was around 18m with a stop for booze. they went on a little further, but it was just another bar and my buddies were peeling off. I just wanted to keep riding, wish they'd stop worrying about the stops because its a good group of people to ride with and most of them only come out twice a week.

yummygooey 05-18-12 10:48 PM

also today my cadence sensor came in. the part that goes on my crank arm rubs the chainstay by less than a mm, but it's just enough to make me return it :/ feels bad man

yummygooey 05-18-12 11:14 PM

Yea, placement is kinda wonky on that thing. I can't get it to read both cadence and speed cuz my chainstay is funky shaped.

Jaytron 05-18-12 11:20 PM

Damn, now I kinda don't want to get one

cc700 05-18-12 11:21 PM

assembled the front end of my GT pantera. origin8 headset that looks awesome but is just some cups that accept a 45 degree integrated bearing(i kind of like the design really) and a manitou fork with dual 80/100 travel. which i think is going to throw the frame geo off, but that's fine.

because **** it i'm still going to ride it like a maniac

hamfoh 05-18-12 11:44 PM

is that on your FG or your road bike? I could tell it was going to be a potential problem even from mounting the sensor, due to my large ass chainstays, but once I put the thing on the arm, wasn't even going to happen in a way that made me comfortable :( damn garmin

also today people around my area have been using the term 'mashing' when describing faster rides, more and more :(

Sherblock 05-18-12 11:51 PM

Guys, Maker Faire tomorrow!

A friends dad is getting paid by Autodesk to go and see what is popular with teens... so we got tickets on the condition we will report on what's "hip" lol

jimmytango 05-19-12 12:02 AM

Today I hired a new dishwasher to replace a part-timer. He was all "hood" and "gangsta" and "from the streets, G". Then I did his new-hire paperwork, and his ID is from Winnetka, which is an affluent, yuppy filled suburb up north. To get an idea, Home Alone was filmed in Winnetka. Awesome.

You won't know 'til you try. My chainstay shape is really weird, tbh. It is so far away from the crank arm.

Road, don't care about stats on the TET cuz that bike is just for fun.

seau grateau 05-19-12 12:29 AM

Just another commute/Friday night at the restaurant. I'm going out to LA for the summer though, leaving in a month, so every day I'm just getting more pumped for that.
