Got my grades today. One A, two A-, one B. Wteff i r dum, gpa hates me. But I guess that's about how I thought I'd do (or even better) cuz huge junioritis all semester and the weather made me ride all the bikes. :(

yummygooey 05-19-12 09:34 AM

Oh! And today I will finally break 1000 recorded miles for the year on a ride with jdg and co. 1.8 miles to go!

Though I'm sure I broke 1000 miles long ago cuz Garmin keeps getting lost out here.

Why not just file it down?

Really? How does that work, if you don't mind.

A lot of new apartment buildings are being built as "mixed-income." Let's say you're building a place with 100 units. You could qualify for pretty good tax incentives if you keep 30 of the units at a low, fixed rental rate that's well below market, then you rent the other 70 units for whatever rate the market will support. It's not exactly government subsidized housing, but the government does play a hand in keeping the rent manageable for low income families.

There's a building like that in Old Town. I forget the name, but it's on North Ave near Sedgewick. Beautiful building, with some really high rents, but if your income is low enough, you can qualify for a very affordable apartment.

Today I got my folder back on the road... fitted a new stem (not shown) and needed to fabricate a new stem bolt.

It goes for powder coat next week so before that happens think we will get in some road time together... decided on copper for the new skin.

This bike and I have travelled some miles together and am hoping I can tour the west coast with it in late August.

swisscheese 05-19-12 11:54 AM

Today I road 50+ km, with a few big long climbs. Made it to the top of Uetliberg and Zurichberg, with a little wandering through the city in between.

Today I am sorting through bike stuff for the swap tomorrow.

xavier853 05-19-12 04:18 PM

Today, cleaned my dirty dirty dirty road bike. It is pristine now, but as I was putting everything back together, I broke my seatpost bolt. :(

How I have to cancel my ride tomorrow until I can get the new bolt.

LesterOfPuppets 05-19-12 04:36 PM

Ride it slammed, bro!

(I'm glad I live somewhere that procuring a seatpost binder bolt at 5:30pm on a Saturday would be easy to accomplish.)

Today I got this:

and I'm about to go get new chain for the Mongoose.

Nagrom_ 05-19-12 04:53 PM

Just took a buddy's measurements for the fit calc. Tryna get him off of his 10year old walmart bike, and onto a proper road bike.

jimmytango 05-19-12 05:51 PM

Today I'm sweating my balls off in a 120 degree kitchen. Later, beers with friends, possibly including Misskaz.

Muffin Man 05-19-12 05:51 PM

Dang, 10 year old wally world bike?

63_dorinte 05-19-12 05:55 PM

Today I:

Rode 58.5 miles in the hills, including one mountain. After shower and grocery shopping, did some project work. Rebuilt a front hub for the 930 project (waiting on spokes) then

Soon

Wife told me I can't have any more bikes until we get a garage to put them in. Soooo.... we're moving June 1st. We've got this packing thing down to a science too. Super pumped!

Yeah, an ancient mongoose mountain bike. I actually wondered if it was old enough to be a nice pre-wally mongoose, but the components suggested otherwise.

Volunteered at the co-op all afternoon, made a little beer run, and am kicking back enjoying a cold one.

This must be the answer to PBR in Canada... it used to come in a plain brown wrapper and despite being the cheapest beer you can buy here it is definitely not the worst.

Today I: am buying a new frameset. The seatpost is stuck in mine, and I've tried everything, including melting it out with lye, and nothing has worked. So, I'm trying to decide what to get.

The Leader 722TS frame&fork deal from City Grounds seems like a pretty good deal. I was just about to pull the trigger, when I checked eBay and saw a Flite 100 frameset in my size for $200. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/KHS-Flite-10...#ht_1109wt_954

Which would you guys suggest?

Leukybear 05-19-12 07:41 PM

Today my oakley's fell off my helmet during the group ride with me toward the front of the pack and well you get the idea...

Young Version 05-19-12 08:00 PM

Today I walked in my graduation ceremony :)

nuhtowel 05-19-12 08:05 PM

Today I saw the avengers in 3d. I never saw a 3d movie before so it was pretty awesome, and the movie was excellent.

Also, I played with my mini RC helicopter a lot. Those things are awesome, I highly recommend everyone try one haha.

jimmytango 05-19-12 08:14 PM

I've drank three gallons of water in seven hours, haven't peed, and I have a dehydration headache. Awesome.

hank0604 05-19-12 08:36 PM

Today I'm now having a bit of an anxiety attack. I haven't spent this much money in a while, but I've liked the Leader frames for a while and that 722TS deal was too good to pass up. Also picked up some new cranks, as I've been wanting to try some 165s for a while now. And a new saddle, and a couple tools, and, and, and... Someone cut up my debit card.

I've tried it. Meh. I've just been getting my ass kicked in a kitchen for eight hours. It's currently the coolest it's been in here all day, and it's 114.

calv 05-19-12 09:16 PM

3 gallons in 7 hours is pretty crazy. Anything with electrolytes greatly helps you overcome dehydration.

Jared. 05-19-12 09:28 PM

Leaving work for the day is the only thing that overcomes dehydration in that situation. Broken/no AC in the kitchen in hot weather sucks.

Dannihilator 05-19-12 09:36 PM

Today I had a very stressful day at the pump track. So sick of it right now.
