last night I broke off from the group ride because the usual leaders showed up and some dumbasses were leading. only did about 16 but ended up at whole foods where they were showing the wizard of oz in their parking lot with the cityscape in the background, wuz nice
today there's an alleycat starting a few miles from my place, considering entering just to see if risking my life on my bike is worth it, probably not, my big hesitation though is the fact i just got a ticket on my bike a few weeks ago |
Today I hit the track with some BF peeps. It went alright. My pedals pretty much failed... F****ck.

I haven't been dropped in years, but I'd stop a pull like a train with an emergency brake if I saw my wife or kids falling off the back of the so-called "family" rides done here. Yes, I said family pelathon-style riding groups here. It's fun and odd, all at once. |

I got into the middle of the pack (I live in the area) and at least made sure the crowd caught up to me and then we figured out our own way to go to the first stop since the original group was long gone. This one was more of this person just going random places without rhyme or reason. She took 25 people on a skinny 1 lane bike trail that is unlit, I wanted to rage. I left right after the trail hit the road. My problem is when leaders never check on the group. to me "leading" is more than picking a route, leaving first and doing it -- anyone can do that. Some people would stop at red lights to avoid getting hit by cars and she would be a red light ahead of them, running that one as well, forcing people who didn't know their way around to either risk a ticket, pissing someone off, or their safety in order to stay with the group |

The only riding I did today was practicing my trackstands in my living room. A few days ago I got a cut on my ankle that should've been stitched, but I poured super glue in it instead and forgot about it until today. Ripped that **** out and almost cried. Tonight I'm going to a party that will be full of iCarly, Absinthe & Red Bull, and whiskey. It's gonna be a good time.

You should think about volunteering to be a ride leader since it seems like you were better at it than the ride leader that was there.

At first I thought it was just a list of alcoholic beverages, and then I reread the list. Today I went to the post office to pick up my new stem that I've been eagerly awaiting, only to discover that they changed their hours without updating the website and were closed. :< |

Dang dude. Nice work.

19.5 is a great avg. speed.
Any elevation involved? Also, nice bike. Looks to be a bit more comfortable geo than the histo. |
I never ride in big groups anymore since I've become 100 percent dependent on my FG. My newest problem is that I have roadies occasionally ride my wheel, which is distracting because they get pissed if I start to backpressure for a turn or something; clearly they're waiting for the telltale shift that would indicate I'm getting ready to turn. I've had two incidents this last week where they passed me after I turned and slowed down to ***** about me not shifting. Mind you, they never looked at my rear wheel clearly.
