Duuude, get yo'self a bike! There are a couple companies along the lake front path that rent (Bobby's Bike Hike and Bike and Roll Chicago being the two I can think of). Get a silly tourist bike and ride the lake front path!

Today I traded KiloTT's with Mucky. We're both pretty happy. Except I'm now brakeless, and his Affinity fork is not drilled for a front brake. I'm going to die.

RGNY 03-20-12 03:12 PM

started to pack a jacket for my ride home from fencing practice. checked the weather and it'll be 64F at 9pm. wow.

still tossing a base layer in my bag, just in case.

Why so?

Why did we trade, or why will I die?

We traded because he wanted to size down and I wanted to size up a bit.

I might die because I've never done brakeless. I mean I rarely use my brakes when riding fixed, but I think just not having the option freaks me out a little.

Hmm we haven't much of this guy after that one video... I guess he decided to end it in the back of a cable car or muni bus?

I think last week Muni actually ran some cyclist over that had fallen.

Just be super careful. Tons of ******** take that thing. Tri-geeks training, rollerbladers, dumbass pedestrians walking in the middle of it and turning blindly...

I feel the same way. When I went to Austin, my lever got jacked in shipping and I rode the first day with a zip-tie holding my brake lever together because no shops were open. Hills (I'm from Chicago. We don't have those), rain, darkness, an unfamiliar city, and a brake lever that was ghetto-rigged made for the scariest 10 miles I've ever ridden, even though I rarely actually use the brakes.

Got my headset fixed up for like $5. Dude at the LBS threw on a new bearing carriage and repacked everything. Rides like new now. He refused to charge me labor, so I tossed him some dough for his time. By the way, that's how you make long-term customers.

Whaaat, I want a repacked headset for free/$5.

Incorrect. No one should spy Solid Snake, or he's doing his job wrong. :D

Sooo, I don't exactly have all of my original teeth because of trolley tracks...
They are not your friends. Stay far away.

adriano 03-20-12 05:41 PM

his cardboard box ploy would fail with this crowd of mail order divas. the box would be slashed open immediately in hopes for some black anodized nitto crap.

Today I tried to coast on my bike and nearly crashed into a car.

New Fixie Problems.

Jared. 03-20-12 08:55 PM

Got severe cramps in my calves at mile 6 of my 20 mile ride. Still enjoyed the ride and beautiful weather.

Today I had a blast on the dirt jumper.

Leukybear 03-20-12 09:21 PM

Today was a very vehicular filled day. I drove to work for the first time in a very long time, it was fun. Fun except it was my wife's car and I totally forgot cars in university lots need permits. Came back to find a big fat ticket for parking w/o a permit in a staff spot under the wiper. Tacked an hour to my work day to get it cleared up.
Then I took the car to the audi dealer for scheduled maintenance (the reason I had it in the first place) where while I was waiting, I wandered into the showroom and a salesman approached me and tried to sell me another; it wasn't really effective as I ended up having the last word and a test drive in a R8.
