Agreed. It seems like you are into a wide(r) range of cars. Have you looked at doing smaller mods on a project car? As in finding a car with a decent motor to start with and adding things to that?

For example: Older BMW (of your choice with a solid motor), do your typical add ons to get it breathing better / running smoother, then play around with some suspension to get it riding better. I'll tell you that IMO a 'quick' car that handles great with a proper suspension is more fun to drive around than something that is only fun in the straights. Just my opinion though. Plus, most of the basic 'add ons' like coilovers / wheels / engine bolt ons will be a nice start for you with less knowledge / tools. A good way to ease into something more time consuming / harder.

today, i'm severely missing my bike. been on the road for a week and a half, and still got another week and a half to go. got to ride a pista in fargo, SD for a bit, but didn't have clips/straps, so i couldn't get a decent "test ride" in. my legs are screaming at me to get on a bike and mash down a road.

Today I rode around South Tacoma for a few hours, starting to understand this cliche "zen" thing a little bit.

Though maybe I'm just delighted to be moving so quietly, and it's a defense against the insidious memory of a clicking freewheel.

Either way, I like it.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, guys! :love: Ended up being a pretty good day - 90-minute massage, lunch at a local Indian place, dinner and beers at two of my favorite bars. And I did manage to ride to the evening festivities - braved the weather forecast and the rain more or less held off. The ride home around midnight through the slight mist on quiet streets was a peaceful, perfect end to the day.

Today I did a whole lotta nothin'. Tomorrow, plan to get a nice 40-50 mile ride in early and maybe go see the x-men movie later.

Improved my endurance a good bit, what's the usual "average" speed? I feel like 22 is a little slow, with about 27 in sprints

So I stupidly bought a pair of Odyssey twisted pedals from eBay for $12.50 (realizing Dave would've sold me a pair from Retrogression), and when I got it I realized that it was too small to fit onto my lady's cranks. The guy sent me the WRONG size.

The item was listed as "Black Odyssey 9/16" twisted pedals" being sold by 81jacob81.

He didn't respond to me so I took this to customer support. A case was opened and I have to wait until the 16th until I can escalate it.

This is the conversation that ensued:

Me: The pedals you send me aren't 9/16" as said in the title, they don't fit on my cranks. They're actually 1/2".. I'd like to return these for a refund please.

*He doesn't respond until I have to ask eBay to intervene and message him.*

Me: Sorry, I need a refund. I'm sure you can pay me back my $12.50. If you can't, pay me back, I'll just escalate this to eBay.

Me: I don't think it matters if you spent the money or not. As a seller, I think you're obliged to refund me since the item you sent me wasn't as described. Simple as that.

Me: Look, I'm sorry this had to happen, but you sent me the WRONG sized pedals. You even had the size I wanted in the title name, yet you sent me the wrong size. Whether you didn't know or not (which I'm sure you did, its not hard to tell), I feel its not fair that you're leaving me responsible.

Unless you refund me my money, I'm going to escalate this to eBay. I feel I've tried to work this out as much as I can with you.



I'm pretty sure the conversation is going to end at that, and I'll just escalate this when it allows me too.

I guess the point of this thread is to see if anyone else in BFSSFG has dealt with something like this? I'm almost positive that eBay will take my side on this one. What do you guys think?

Oh I know. I worked for them for about a month. I couldn't even eat the sandwiches (not that I wasn't allowed to, just didn't want them) and ended up quitting because of tuna salad. Making that stuff was offensive.

today I went to a David Byrd show. My student won the poster contest the library put on in conjunction with this show. Actually, my students took 1st, 2nd and 3rd! First place was on display near the entrance and I was glad to see my student there. Nothing better than seeing a 15 year old kid mingling with artists 3-4 times her age! I got a free signed print and an artist's proof of the Hendrix poster for fifty bucks! YEAH!

Today I'm spending the afternoon training on the velodrome confirming my thoughts about how much I suck.

....did 16 12-second efforts (10 min. warm-up, cool down), 46x13, 47x13, 48x13, objective being a slow-speed jump (15 mph) low on the track at the 200-meter line, 40 mph by start/finish. Watched a truly amazing Canadian Grand Prix, then Spain v England U-21s.

Thanks to you and all my other good friends here who have wished me well. I'm doing ok I guess, going on my third day since surgery. Still pretty sore and needing meds, and my junk is all black n' blue, which I understand can happen. My biggest concern is that I've gotten real constipated and haven't been able to do #2 since surgery, due to the pain meds. Anyways, I'm glad I took care of it before it became a medical emergency, and God Bless Medicare. The whole deal will cost me about $300, as opposed to about $8000 w/o insurance.

Today i put the sram s300 on one of my bikes.Exellent bang for the buck imo.
