Surprisingly, not much.

Seriously! The top tube is a little shorter than on my 58cm Leader but the seat tube is the same. I was originally thinking I should get a 56 but it was way too big.

Just looked at the geo. so the size is c-c? that makes sense then. the TT on the 54 is only 550mm though and I know you usually rock that 90mm stem. are we talking 110mm now? seems cramped!

what makes the godzilla more expensive btw? and any reason why it uses 1"?

Thank you.

I thought Dan was retired... so I didn't expect 32.

Happy birthday though, hope it was (is) a great one!

Dannihilator 04-27-12 09:32 PM

It was.

My work allows for a lot of time to ride.

today I'm so seduced by this ride. If they say $200 I might have to bite.

Today sucked. A lot. Sigh. I got to ride my bike, and didn't self-medicate by getting wasted, so I guess it wasn't that bad.

Woke up at 4:30 a.m. after drinking with the wife last night and produced this in my hungover state:

Still running 48x16 and yes, that MFin'g wind is still out of the SSE 20-25. Watched a group of riders in a memorial ride run down a jogger cause she was using the MUP and you now memorial rides require you to paceline and charge the leader six abreast on a two-lane MUP. If I wasn't hung over, I might have chased him down just to mock his stupidity.

today I swap my rear Zaffiro 23c with my friend's Randonneur 28c :p

Stem is 100mm and it's not cramped at all. As long as I'm within 55ish - 56ish, I'm good.

For the last two days, I took the bolt out for a ride. Words can't explain how wonderfully this bike rides - there is a smoothness about my fixed gear that I cannot get from my road bike.

Yesterday I pulled off a pretty savage ride :

http://www.collectivedesign.net/bike/beatrichkid.jpg

Long story short, I opted to jam home after a 60 mile recovery ride. Tired of going slowly for 60 miles, I had to book it, and I did.

Long version in case anyone is interested :

The thing that made this ride unique was I was racing up guadalupe (about 450 feet of climb over 1.5 miles, nothing big) against this kid on a supersix evo who was furiously trying to pass me. We started the ascent at the same time, coincidentally. We kept passing each other and at the very end, he made one last minute attempt to come up past me. I looked at his front chainring and saw him in the 34, and wished I had one too for this final push... I read the expression on his face, one of twisted fury and agony, and I just thought to myself... "must beat this guy with my 1 gear... must beat him". No matter how much pain there was I closed a 20 foot gap and came up past him. I looked back and he had his head down just churning away - he had run out of energy after the final sprint trying to pass me. As I reached the final apex, I could hear my spoke beads plinking on the rim and pedaled away. All in good fun - I could tell he truly did not want to lose to a fixed gear bike, especially one as dumb looking as mine with spoke beads. Great satisfaction was had. I beat my personal record up this hill by 40 seconds, which was set 4 days ago on my road bike. Sometimes, you just need to HTFU and pedal.
