Went for a leisurely 20-miles before work. Pretty sure I ended up in the same bull**** construction area Kaz flatted in. It's too nice out for me to be at work.

Last night, some dude at a bar kept calling me Jonathan Davis and singing Korn songs whenever he was near me (which was way too often). After about the 20th time, I very politely told him that I would have no trouble knocking his teeth down his throat and pulling them out his ass. He went over to his friends and I thought **** was going to pop off but he ended up coming back over, apologizing and buying me, Angie and our two friends each a beer and a shot. He ended up being a pretty funny guy so I taught him my secret "brethren" handshake and made him promise not to show too many people. I stared right into his eyes while squeezing his hand and said "I'm ****ing serious. Do not.", which seemed to really freak him out.

Brought bikes to sqrls parents house, washed bikes, bike now clean. Feels good man.

Went for a ride and the humidity/heat was just killer. My stomach was hurting so I cut it short.
|
I finally got my hands a pair of hozan lockring pliers. Busted knuckles no more.

Today I found a place that has my favorite orange cokes ice cold and super cheep. Fifty cent Orangina and 75 cent San Pellegrino. And the second cutest cashier on the planet.
Had to get orange crackers too. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8004/7...94eb758b_b.jpg Orange cokes. by Lester Of Puppets, on Flickr |

I want some like Leader's 722s that go on the inside of the dropout to stop these mfing sheriffs from slipping forward
|
MKS makes them in two widths - one for steel frames and the other for thicker aluminum dropouts.
|
hmm spend $40 on tensioner or build up a new wheel!
|
I'm surprised your new Sheriff hub is slipping. That hardware is burly.
|
it's been worse than my PW to be honest, but I do like the hardware more. was totally solid for the first few months and now two rides in the last 2 weeks it's tried to kill me. tightened it hard enough that I worried about the chainstays

This isn't very impressive, I know. But, coming from riding 2 miles and wanting to literally fall over and just lay in the grass 4 weeks ago. I'm vastly improving I think :)
8.3 miles total. Single Speed Madison. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35896/8.3.jpeg |

Today I had a fun time on the dmr, then went for an easy 20 miles on the 930.

Got home from handing out race flyers at the critical mass starting point to find my husband brewing beer. Which is great, 'cept that it makes the house sooooo hot and humid and we only have one window unit A/C for the 1st floor. I need to get that man a turkey fryer so he can do this **** outside. In the meantime, I'm gonna hang out on the back deck.
Also, being at the CM start made me want to ride with them soooo bad. Such a nice night, so there was a big crowd and it would have been super fun. |

Oh yeah forgot, blew by someone on an old clapped out mtb with adjustable stem that was wearing gym shorts and a replica TDF King of the mountains jersey, while climbing none the less....

Then why didn't you go? FYI: I won't be able to make the after-party after all. Work.

This afternoon was just stupid beautiful. Tried to go to the NE Pho Hung but it's now Pho Vinh. Not as good as Pho Hung but still good. Broth 8, Meat 9, Noodles 4. Overall score 7/10. But Salad Rolls were half price 3-6pm, $2.25 for a pair of 'em I shoulda just kept ordering them 'til I got full.
Time to go ride somewhere with good sunset vantage point. Post-pho pic: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7239/7...e96085db_b.jpg |
