It was an 8 year old system, and I've heard Rosewill PSU's are teh sux, so I'm surprised it made it this long. I ordered a new PSU from Amazon. But I made sure it was a good 600w one, so if anything else did fry, I can get a new mobo/RAM/since I already have a new CPU waiting to go into a build. (Phenom II 1100t, I used to work at AMD).

On the flipside, my MBP plays it surprisingly well.

Today I got a pinch flat on the way to work. Stupid road construction with those metal slabs covering it... It looked like they had used asphalt to cover the edges of the slabs, but it was all ****ed up so I still got the *POP!* hisssss.... "God dammit!" Very poorly done, People's Gas. Then I realized I 1.) had a spare tube and tools but not a pump with me and 2.) forgot my CTA card at home. Started walking and half a block later found a bike shop with an air hose out front. Yay! The new tube had a ****ed-up valve that I had to use pliers to get open (thankfully I had my leatherman with me) so it took me forever to change the tire, seemed like. I will note that not a single cyclist that passed me asked if I needed help. :/

But, this was actually the first time I changed a tire alone, out on the road "in the wild" so to speak (as opposed to at home or with the help of other people). And I still made it to work on time. Achievement: unlocked.

If I were you I would start from scratch... I don't think a diablo 2 machine can handle diablo 3 very well.... especially in the days of AGP cards.
Anyhow I really do like how AMD has stuck to a similar and not to mention backwards compatible socket for awhile as opposed to intel that's turning out proprietary ones twice every year.

I ordered a Corsair 600w, so if I need to rebuild completely I have enough power for a better system. I'll likely reuse my HD/case/etc if I rebuild. So I'll only need to buy Mobo/RAM/and (eventually) a new vid card. Case is fine, HD is fine, optical drive is fine.

I haven't kept up with good budget minded video cards though. Any suggestions? I'd rather not go ATI, because I used to work for them and the drivers are always a problem. The cards also seem to be more power hungry.

I'm sure the focus will be an awesome bike. I see it as a nice carbon frame with SRAM components - can't go wrong like that.

The BMC is an awesome bike as well. I love mine. It's not only very stiff, but comfortable (I would even go as far as to say it's as comfortable for me as a steel bike). The carbon junctions at the seat tube really do a great job in absorbing vibrations. You can get a 2011 model for very cheap - $1600. With the money you save vs. buying a Focus, you'd have enough to upgrade to Ultegra Di2 or grab a nice carbon wheelset.

The 2012 model sells for $3300... and is essentially the same exact bike with a different paint scheme.

I got mine for $2200.

Also, the Cannondale CAAD bikes come highly recommended. Find an older frame and throw on some Dura Ace 7700 for way cheap. Then pickup some really nice wheels. Just another option.

Yeah nothing beats dedicated graphics; I loved the time when the 88' was the top dog; good times.
And catalyst drivers are a pile of poo. As far as power usage, ATI has come out far on the lead as far as performance vs power consumption goes; top card vs. top card; nvidia's cards always uses more wattage on idle or under load.
Often times ATI cards would outperform at a lower power usage vs a Nvidia card.

Nvidia just launched out the GTX6XX series not long ago so you should be able to pick a very powerful GTX 5XX card for pretty cheap from upgraders.

I ALWAYS ask if people are ok on the side of the road. Pay it forward, people.

On the other hand, there aren't many things more ridiculous than a bunch of cyclists standing around someone who got a flat telling them how to fix it. It isn't like there is some way that two people can fix a flat together. I typically go by the guys with spandex and co2 pumps and only stop for the elderly couple on comfort bikes and kids on kid bikes. Although asking "you okay?" never hurts.

Damn. Looks like you still have to pay a pretty penny for the road racer. Tons of scam sites are listing anywhere between $1.6k - $2.5k. All likely fake. I bought from competitive cyclist, and at $2.2k... a steal. They also seem to drop all their prices towards the end of the year for the current models.

Last night, some dude at a bar kept calling me Jonathan Davis and singing Korn songs whenever he was near me (which was way too often). After about the 20th time, I very politely told him that I would have no trouble knocking his teeth down his throat and pulling them out his ass. He went over to his friends and I thought **** was going to pop off but he ended up coming back over, apologizing and buying me, Angie and our two friends each a beer and a shot. He ended up being a pretty funny guy so I taught him my secret "brethren" handshake and made him promise not to show too many people. I stared right into his eyes while squeezing his hand and said "I'm ****ing serious. Do not.", which seemed to really freak him out.

Well it's up to them if they do need help. This usually comes in the form of a patch, needs a tube, needs a co2 cartridge or they just fail at changing a tube and I can do it in about 3 minutes. Two people can do it together: while one person takes the tire off and checks for things still in it, I can check the tube to find the hole and prep the replacement (take off the stupid cap and washer, inflate a bit with mouth). While the first person is putting the new tube in, I can clean up.

About a month ago I picked up a Sapphire Radeon 6870 for cheepz.

Sad that I have to build budget builds because I'd rather buy bike stuffs.

In my case, the little screw thing on the top of my presta valve was stuck shut, so I was sitting there trying to pull/twist it open for like 5 minutes with my pliers. I could have used some help or muscle power or knowledge about how those things work, because I've never had that happen to me before. But yeah, otherwise I would have said, "I got it, thanks!" It's just a nice gesture.

Ahah cheer up; I'm still rocking 3X GTX 285 FTW's w/ a i7 920 on my primary... it's been a long time but it's still kicking like a champ. I do have a new build in the works but I've settled for less as my current job doesnt allow much time for dedicated gaming; 2500k + msi frozr 6970.
The 2500k is a awesome chip; 4.2 Ghz on stock air. REDICULUS.
