Today I'm feeling my first Seattle ride. Miller Park downhill to Pike Place Market was fun as hell. Back up was probably the longest 2 miles of my life. I am definitely not in Queens any more. Now where the hell did I put that 42 ring...

Welcome!

I have far too many infraction notices to even begin to attempt to reply to that. ;)

Today (well, yesterday) I: decided that for my birthday, I wanted a healthy dose of pain, suffering and glory. Next week is the famous Seven Hells of San Francisco race. I decided to take Wolfpack Hustle on a pre-ride of the course. Gears were pretty much a necessity (unless you had a < 50gi setup laying around somewhere) but we did have two of our fixie regulars show up. They did a lot of walking but had a lot fun (their words!) nonetheless. Hats off to them for attempting it!
To give you an idea of the walls we faced, Twin Peaks was by far the easiest climb of the night. It felt like a recovery spin. Strava track. Some of these beasts have average grades in the 25% range. Trophies for all and even a couple KOMs. All in all, one of the best birthday presents I have ever given myself. Edit, pics: Impressive turnout given the route was pre-announced and everyone knew, more or less, what they were getting themselves into. https://instagr.am/p/NK4STiHFI_/media/?size=l This is what we all looked like after the seventh Hell. https://instagr.am/p/NK94EanFLY/media/?size=l Hero's of the night, Cliff and Albert, walking up the final pitch (25%+) of 29th Street. They made it up half way, which, to be honest, I don't think I could have done in their shoes. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...34700062_n.jpg |

thats a cool picture. I love Chicago, my second favorite city (next to NY). Today I cleaned up my $150 CL purchase and added some bar tape, new tires & the saddle off my Giant bike. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-C...717_003713.jpg

Twisted Spoke is another alternative. The burgers aren't as good, but the beer/whiskey list is even better.
Today I am supposed to go furniture shopping for my new apartment and then go to the beach, but I can't seem to leave the bathroom for more than five minutes. Sad face. In other (potentially related) news, I've lost five pounds. |

Twisted Spoke is good. Between the beer lists at my bar, Green Lady (a block from work) and friends that pour Black Albert and Dark Lord at their parties, I'm pretty damned spoiled. Ever go to TS for Smug 'N' Eggs?

PS- I've never had Dark Lord. :(

win win situation

Smoking with him? right on. Must have been good stuff.
Cool bars. I saw a guy picking up a pair of Soma drop bullhorns at my LBS yesterday, they looked even cooler than the Nitto RB021. Same basic bars but with longer "ends" for one more hand position I guess? All I know is he was getting rung up while I was next in line holding my bike, and I felt inadequate lol http://store.somafab.com/eltostpubar.html |

Hang out with Kaz and/or myself for a while and I guarantee that you'll have beers you've never had.

True enough.
|
She invited me to stay and hangout at the bbq though. I'm just kinda shy and had just gotten home from a long day in the burbs, so I declined. I would definitely hang out with you guys sometime though for sure. I follow Kaz on twitter and her tinyfix crew page but I think thats only for girls though?
|
Dude, Kaz is one of my best friends and I'm not in Tiny Fix, though I do try to go to the events when I can, as three of the four members are friends of mine. Kaz and I followed one another on Twitter when I used it regularly. I'm trying to cut back on my social media stuff, haha.

Tiny Fix membership is limited to women, but Tiny Fix events are open to everyone. :)

Oh man. Larry Johnson. Remember when he was on Family Matters as Steve Urkel's partner in a basketball tournament?
