Today I keep stumbling into the SSFGF forum.

Today I recieved my Knog Boomers.

had that "middle age moment" on my Monday night group cruise. 20-something hottie with porn star body and mechanical skillz with vintage bikes made it very clear that all i had to do was say the word....
at 42 years old, and with a wife of 20 years that i adore, i am -not- going there......but.....damn......*headdesk* cold beer and a colder shower. that's for me! and, i think i'm going to try a set of Knog Blinders to replace my Beam Bugs. drivers here will still ignore me, but i'll make it just a little more difficult. |

LessonLearned, I mean no offense, but I can't ****ing stand Lockdown. Every time I've been, the burgers were overcooked, fries were undercooked and soggy, and the last time I was there I got a bottle of Jinx Proof that was room temp. Kuma's isn't someplace I go everyday. In fact, it was my third choice. A bunch of my friends had gone to Hot Doug's but I woke up late, so by the time I waited through the line they were done. One of them wanted to keep hanging out, so we went to Pork Shoppe, which was closed, and decided to go to Kuma's because there was zero wait at all, just like last time I went. My buddy Davy was in the kitchen (my kitchen at work is about the same size as theirs, so to me theirs is fine.) and sent us a few appetizers on the house, and bought our first round of beers. All in all, I'd say that it was an ok experience.
Afterward, I went on a nice ride, watched some bmx dudes dirt jumping, napped under a tree for a bit, and got opinions about my Rev-X from a couple mechanics. Turns out that the click is likely the carbon coming unbonded from the aluminum. Time for a new front wheel. Dude at one of the shops told me he'd sell me a hand-built Velocity Deep-V to Sealed Formula with double butted spokes for $65. The only catch is that the rim is neon pink. I have a feeling that'd look horrible on my bike. , A pink wheel? People will run you down with their cars and scream sexually prejudice insults at you! (only joking man, I know all too well it's not funny when people try to hit you with their car) |
They already do that, haha.
I'm doing karaoke at a bar up by my house and The Tour is on the tv that usually has baseball. The bartender changed it when I walked in because he knows me. Sometimes it's the little things in life that make a great day, ya know? Edit: I almost forgot, I saw a chick in yoga pants riding an Elliptigo on Damen today. I wanted to chase her down and grab a picture, but I couldn't turn around in the traffic. |

Wife and I rode our bikes downtown for some funky soul from mr Charles Bradley. Met a friend down there too. Beautiful night! Then we rode up to Handlebar for some dinner/drinks. Not a bad day for a Monday. :thumb:

after last night's existential crisis, i amused myself by counting wildlife on the way to work (23 rabbits, 4 woodchucks).
on the dirt path i was blocked by two white-tailed deer fawns, all spotty and cute (and probably very tasty) -that wouldn't move-. tried my bell, clapping and yelling. then they started to get curious and wander toward me! now i'm thinking "uh oh, where's momma?" but, apparently my bell only works at short range. they moved in from about 50' to 10' and when i hit the bell again they scattered. *whew* |
thats a cool picture. I love Chicago, my second favorite city (next to NY).
Today I cleaned up my $150 CL purchase and added some bar tape, new tires & the saddle off my Giant bike. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-C...717_003713.jpg |

I've been having this trouble lately too. Also turkeys on the bike path. I have kind of gotten to where I expect the geese but I am surprised that you gun toting folk let the turkeys stick around.

It was the same in NJ. I moved to Toronto a month ago and see very few Canadian geese up here. Ironic.
And today I clocked at 40 mph on my ride in to work. I love having empty roads at 3:30 am |

"The Rochester, Ind., city council just approved issuing hunting permits for the Round Barn Golf Club, after years of complaints about Canada Geese invading the course every winter. Five hunters a day will take out as many geese as they can." |
I ended up not doing any of the practically dozen things I wanted to do last night. Ordered pizza and fell asleep on the couch at like 8:30. Of course then when I got up to go to bed, I tossed and turned forever and then had a bunch of scary nightmares that kept waking me up. I really needed that sleep, it would have been nice if it had actually been restful.
But, whatever. Today I rode my bike even though it's already a million degrees out. LL, are those your seriously hairy-ass legs in the right corner of that pic? You must be roasting in this heat! |

:p It's just the angle and the lighting. I don't actually have, okay well they are kinda hairy but not like the thick layer of brown moss that shows up in that pic haha. Hey at least I went! You ate pizza and fell asleep. So there. :) |
Here, just snapped this. They're not that bad.
