Nice! I'm hoping we can replace the tubes so I can take it for a ride and then convince him me wants to sell it(which shouldn't be too hard; he sells everything). It appears to be in good functional order, with no damage or rust on any components. I was thinking $150-$200. What do you folks think?

If it was a matte black one in the same size/ condition I would've done it.

It was matte black, and it seemed in alright condition, definitely not as pristine as my Kagero though. The real deal breaker was that it was a size too big.

Tell me about it. Scrod would hate me if I traded my Kagero for a Pista lol.

Well he'll be a bit hypicritical then considering his dear kagero is up on the 'bay for 6 bills.

It looks like this but with unraveling white bar tape and a white concor supercorsa:

Nice

Friend of mine has one of those Trek 1000s. Kinda harsh ride on chipseal but not as bad as Cannondales of the era. The hidden brake cable always got me a little sprung, though.

Today I further Italo-pimped the front end of my Free Spirit. Nisi Countach laced to Record hub and shod with Vittoria Rally.

As much crap as the Rallys get (If you're gonna run cheap sew-ups, might as well run clinchers, etc) I've yet to find a better clincher for $25.

Actually, it's because I remember that he hates Pistas, along with pissing in my Cheerios. Plus the fact that he gave me a sweet deal on this frame, I wouldn't do that to him hahaha.

I'm actually in the process of selling it also. I have to get around to taking nice pics of it though.

hamfoh 05-30-12 01:28 PM

lol calv you just pieced that thing together!

calv 05-30-12 01:32 PM

I know!!! It sucks, I took my first 25+ mile ride a few days ago and have been trying to dial it in, but I can't get it comfortable. Took it to the LBS and they said it was likely too big for me. My options are a chode stem or a smaller frame.

It's fine for short rides but no way I can put out more than 15+ miles without numerous areas of my body hurting. The 50cm Kilo TT Pro felt better even with a stem too short.

hamfoh 05-30-12 01:34 PM

damn man that sucks. how I felt with my 725. I tried to make it work for a while but I couldn't avoid the inevitable.

calv 05-30-12 01:39 PM

I should have asked some people about the geo before I decided. 53cm "seemed" like the right choice but I didn't know that such a steep seat tube angle could make the TT longer. So 545mm TT on this Medium sized frame is a no go. I need something around 52/3cm top tube.

Quiet day in my shop so I swapped wheels and pedals on a few bikes, played with my Blizzard, and hung out with my friend who wanted to test ride a bunch of bikes.

That moment when the first breeze hits your limb minus cast. :D

Castless!!! I have some crazy pics to show you guys when I get home.

Nagrom_ 05-30-12 03:38 PM

Back in a cast for 2 weeks. Doc changed it from 4-6 to 8-12.

There went my summer. <__<

Also, atrophy blows.

This math confuses me. Are you going to be in a cast all summer? Sucks to hear that.

Originally the doc told me 4-6 weeks, with my follow up apt. on the 4th week. I pushed the apt. back to the 5th week, today, because it wasn't feeling right. With the x-rays today, doc said its going to be more like 8-12 weeks, in 2 week cycles. So I go back on the 16th of June or so, and will hopefully not need another cast, but most likely will.

Hopefully not all of my summer, but more than I'd like.

What sucks most is the ridiculous loss of muscle mass due to atrophy. Its going to be a ***** getting all of it back.

calv 05-30-12 05:38 PM

Damn, you just helped me figure out why my left calf is smaller than my right. I had a cast on it before, lol.
