we've got to 15 last month.
my secret to happy marriage is luck (its beats skill everytime) CONGRATES |
and to you!
|
today i spent the morning getting my car emissions test (cars man why) and then getting my internet back up and running via HOURS on the phone with comcast. this is not a ***** about comcast though, turns out the problem was caused by my husband handling an account change improperly and it f-ed everything up. i lucked out and got one of those rare really helpful reps on the phone and he got me back up and running AND found a package that saves me $50 a month on my bill. i'll take it.

ever cook with a true chisel grind? the coffee mug thing is just for touchups on pocket knives. i keep a set of waterstones, a ceramic rod and a steel in the kitchen. i was a wanna-be chef, when i used to party with the CIA crew.... Congrats to RG and JD. I'm not sure how fifteen years happens. I've been married for a hair over three, been with her for six, and I'm amazed by that. Up until about a month ago, we had been on the brink of divorce for about a year. Jared, I hate you right now. I ****ing love Braid. I can't tell you how many times I've seen them live. |
Today I decided to just stop reading all the "n33d a fixay" and "what size kilo TT" threads.
|
Yesterday I did a loop and a half of singletrack, and got a flat from a goathead.
Why the extra half? The stupid ****ty clip on my buddy's seatbag broke in half, causing the bag to go flying off his bike and into the brush after a particularly technical section. Of course his keys and cellphone were in there too. We had to shortcut back to the same spot and walk the trail for a quarter mile until we could find the thing again. In related news, Lezyne glueless patches are the tits. |

I have a Global and love it. What marque Sabatier? I used to have a Sabatier Elephant, but it got stolen. When I did sushi, I had a Masamoto Yanagiba. True chisel. Loved it. It got stolen, along with the Sabatier and a few other nice knives and tools in my kit, from the Alinea locker room.

just found out that Dropkick Murphys are playing the Utica brewery, 5min from my house. i'm predicting mayhem and foolishness.

Today I took the rusted chainring bolt out that made the most annoying noise with a power drill

I give zero ****s about the the history of the U.S.
It's remarkable. |
I just had lunch with an old friend that just got out of rehab. Dude looks/sounds better than I've seen him in years, and has actually had a job for six months. I'm shocked. Went to this little Korean diner around the corner. Last time I was there was a brunch date back in the winter. Still awesome. Now to listen to some Wu-Tang and read comics.
Edit: I'm thinking about trying to save for a certification at UBI or Barnett's. Or maybe a Carmichael training week... Hmm... |
Redbull is streaming their new video where the trail ends if anyone is interested, I know its not SSFG and most here aren't tail riders, but I though someone might appreciate it. pretty gnarly stuff regardless of gears
heres the link http://www.redbull.com/en/bike/films...the-trail-ends edit: Sal Masakelele stops his antics at the 1 hour mark and the movie starts then |

A very loud screech, similar to dragging a dead body across a tile floor. Oh wait I don't know what that sounds like... |
Today I got the package from home I was waiting for, so that I can sell stuff to support the bike habit.
|
Today I wrenched a bunch and saw a Pinarello for hairnet.

I'm very tempted to get an iphone 5 but I'm a bit torn with how apple was stingy with the new features and the similar resemblance with the 4(s). Not to mention all the manufacturing line leaks took away the fuzzy Christmas day like feeling from Apple release events.

I know the feeling. I worked at an Apple store the day the first iPhone launched. There was a line around the mall. 1 hour before closing, everyone had been served. Everyone left with an iPhone. I was amazed. A customer could have showed up at 8:30PM walked right to the counter and bought an iPhone, no line, no wait.

i've had Macs since my first computer in '95, but went to an Apple store for the first time last year (bad hard drive). very much the forced joviality of a TGIF's coupled with koolaid drinking comet cult. all really decent people, but i imagine it must be like working at Disneyland: always looking over your shoulder in case you're caught not living up to the corporate image. felt bad for them. i now refer to it as the "church of the shiny wall".
today i shall attempt to shave even more time off my ride home. cannot get away from this place fast enough. i am constantly reminded that, although there are good people here, the primary purpose of the criminal justice system is to perpetuate itself. should have followed my first instinct and just gotten on the plane for that Thai Buddhist monastery that accepted me after college. darn meeting the perfect woman.... :) |

Got home last night and found a bat chillin' on my ceiling. Escorted him out using a garbage can.
