Today I:

Today my thumb got sucked into the cog while I was wiping my chain. No blood though, thankfully.

FakeFuji 09-25-12 09:40 PM

I did that last week with my ring finger, and it was gross, but not that painful.

Nagrom_ 09-25-12 09:42 PM

Today I cut the steerer on the Kilo.

I'm about to post a pic in the designated thread, I'll include a before pic(not mine, never took any).

Been carrying it since I got it. Makes sense. I ain't tryin to mount a 23c gatorskin or rando on the road. A saddle bag helps.

Today I went to Sheldon to solve the tiny chainring wobble and intermittent "GOMP-GOMP-GOMP" vibration that was robbing me of the buttery-smooth FG experience (in spite of running my chain slacker than most.) Turns out my bottom bracket spindle is slightly bent -- hopefully the new one arrives before my cups get trashed. :(

Today I:
Rode in the morning
Worked on my bike
Watched some CX

But srsly, both bikes are ace.

Today I caught a flat on the townie, not even halfway through the commute. Had to hop on the L train and be 'that guy' with a bike during rush hour. But i still made it to work on time so i win. So far.

Propagandhi show tonight, been waiting years to see them. Comeback Kid won't be too shabby either. Building some bikes at the co-op before hand and watching Man United at the bar before that.

Language not safe for work.

jimmytango 09-26-12 02:38 PM

Man, I love Propaghandi.

Today I'm working on bikes, wishing I could be riding them instead.

RGNY 09-26-12 04:16 PM

with the exception of possible studded tires, i think i have all the parts i need to make the Nature Boy my winter commuter. if it's like last year, i won't need the studs.

the ribbing related to being the only bike commuter at work continues. today i was wearing my Surly wool cap: "oh, isn't that nice, he got himself a little riding hat." as i'm not about to be the one to punch a 50+ year old nurse in the mouth, i responded with "how nice you feel so free and safe that you can share your opinion." all i got was a confused stare, but i felt better....

Mumonkan 09-26-12 05:16 PM

today i:

dealt with dumb **** like this all day:
https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...71663143_n.jpg
mall management doesnt call carting for a week and everyone else decides to be an inconsiderate prick, gj all involved.

then i ate this for lunch:
http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws...0a1fc2b5_7.jpg

then i rode my beater home in a rainstorm, i guess i can officially call myself a commuter now

then my lazer was waiting for me at my door when i got home, yay safety!

now to bake kickass protein muffins

/edit: no muffins, aparently this is the day my dad decides to use the oven for the first time since ****ing may.
now im pissed and im gonna do angry reading for sociology.

Adrian_ 09-26-12 07:59 PM

Dannihilator 09-26-12 08:22 PM

Today I beat the weather out and got in 74 miles.

Nagrom_ 09-26-12 08:57 PM

Today I decided what I'm replacing the kilo frame with.

Dannihilator 09-26-12 08:58 PM

Oh?

Nagrom_ 09-26-12 09:01 PM

It's a secret.

Scrodzilla 09-26-12 09:02 PM

Today a pinched nerve in my neck is making my life full-blown hell.

Nagrom - I know.

california is bananas. I'm moving to Austin in about a month and even the stuff right downtown is day and night compared to where I live now.

seau grateau 09-26-12 09:25 PM

I saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Master back to back. Both good for vastly different reasons.

I've been so excited since I learned it was being made. Want to go see it so bad.

Central NY? as long as you don't mind living about 10min from "the hood" a three story Victorian w/ leaded glass entryway, maid's quarters in the attic, finished and root celler, walk-in pantry, Shaker cherry woodwork, fireplace and detached garage goes for around $50-60k. our post-war 3 bedroom cape? $48.5k. it's wild, but here unless you work for the state you work for Walmart.

I never even read the book, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Cheesy but fun and well done.
