But hey, just my opinion and I'm just a big meanie, so take it with a grain of salt. As Calv said, let the chaos ensue but quit getting so pissy when someone doesn't agree with you.
Good call, and I honestly appreciate the feedback. I'll keep an eye on all that anger and apology stuff. Sorry, didn't realize. (heh, there I go again damnit! i think it happens when i'm hungry. i'm told it's called hangry. )

As far as the other thing, I don't get mad when someone disagrees, I get riled up when they do so in a prickish way. You can disagree with someone while still showing them a little bit of common decency as well. But that's not always the way it's done.

it doesn't say so when you make your account but there is a minimum skin-thickness requirement prior to posting.

Quite true. I guess I'm a glass half full kinda guy though, because I think, instead of everyone just agreeing to be jerks and putting up with it... we should just be decent to each other instead. That way no one has to have thick skin, and that way we don't develop a habit of being inherently rude to others.

Thats always my motto. 'Oh, something good came out? Well, we can just wait two months for it to be released, then rent it. And if we really like it, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.'

I like the Scrod approach... He posted something a few days back (IDK where) that I agree with:

Don't expect kindness or compassion from anyone.

That way you are OK with ppls being stupid/rude (the real world) and you feel truly grateful and happy when someone actually is kind to you, which likely won't be most of the time.

Truth. I've lost faith in my own generation, which is probably the most sad part of all. I was raised to be courteous and polite, chivalrous, hold doors open for people, etc. No one around me does it. Pisses me off to no end.

And on the roads around here, when I'm riding, I try to do the same thing. We have some slight rollers, so I try to let the cars coming up behind me know when theres traffic coming at us, so that they don't get into an accident trying to pass me. But apparently my looking out for their safety is grounds for screaming and daily single-finger salutes.

The trick is to do it without becoming bitter and cynical. Disinterest or indifference works for me, spend more time focusing on myself than other people and their pitfalls.

that works. the way I like to think about it is being OK with nothing, like a few grains of rice a day and water nothing.

maybe a robe too

and not letting negativity and discomfort dishearten you.

also dont do anything (i mean like ANYTHING) that harms other people. ofc you need to do this in order to live in modern society but take it in context with the path youve chosen...
