RGNY 08-13-12 11:45 AM

of course the day i wear a white jersey to commute, i hit a section of trail that was very much not packed dirt and actually mud about 6" deep and only dry on top. didn't go down, but got my minerals for the day.

wife's birthday today. taking her to the local micro-gastro-pub with friends.

cc700 08-13-12 12:41 PM

aww everyone's so rad.

i mean, i did take something out of context and expected people to follow me with it, which is nearly impossible to do on facebook.

jimmytango 08-13-12 03:32 PM

Phone doesn't like the quote function today for some reason so...

Charlie, I will be your friend. I have enough issues that I have no place to judge anyone haha.

Kaz, I forgot that was coming up. And yeah, your Bianchi is heavy as ****.

Today, fifteen miles in the rain, sheared a chainring bolt, after work it will be fifteen miles in the rain and dark. My shoes are still wet. Sucks.

striknein 08-13-12 03:47 PM

Man, I would grab those ears and pu.... what?

Yeah, Charlie's ok.

Today I rode to the lbs and saw they were closed, and went to a different lbs 5 miles or do away and got the on gaurd version of the evolution mini with a 4 foot cable, then repacked my hubs and headset because I noticed an odd noise coming from my drive train, cleaned my chain thoroughly and figured out its my unused freewheel making noise so now I think I am just going to remove it, I wish my kilo came with fix/fix hubs.

Does anyone know a way to remove a freewheel without buying the 4 prong remover?

Scrodzilla 08-13-12 05:40 PM

If you're not planning on using the freewheel again, you can use the destruction method.

chi0dos 08-13-12 05:53 PM

Nailed a job interview and start working next week. Time to give all my money to Scrod

I filled my tires up to 85 psi (max is 90). About an hour later the rear tube popped, just sitting there. Small room, big bang.

Bontrager tubes suck, both of them blew out like this, the front popped while riding a few weeks ago.

Edit: Cheap Bontrager tires suck. I think the bead slipped off the rim from the high PSI and the tube blew as a result.

Today a customer came in with a CAAD10 that he'd rebuilt. Put full SRAM Red and Zipp 808's on this thing. It was nice. Then he said he needed a new BB. So far, nothing fishy. I threw it on the stand, tried to loosen the crankarms, twisted my allen key without loosening the bolt at all. Used a different key, twisted that one too. Tried the other side, didn't budge at all. Customer walked back over, said he'd forgotten to tell us that he used the red Loc-Tite instead of lube when he put it together so that it would hold.

We told him that it was more or less permanently on there and that there was nothing we could do. He shrugged and walked out with his bike. Some people have more money than brains.

Wait, you mean the stuff you can only remove by " heating up parts to 500°F (260°C)." How did that turn out?
