<--- has a wet booty.

riding home from Tuesday night fencing practice in a thunderstorm has become a trend. although it's nice after getting hot and sweaty while encased in stretch kevlar.

Today I almost made it to and from work on my bike w/o using a brake (13 miles r/t from BK through Times Square traffic and back). Grabbed it out of instinct when a Hasid in a mini van turned into me off the W'burg Bridge (> 1 mile from home). Would I have been able to stop w/o it or would I have ended up under his wheels, yet another victim of the ongoing gang turf war between Hasids and bikers? I do not know.

Every time I read about you riding after fencing practice I picture a musketeer on a bicycle, waving his sword around (being chased by zombies).

got a flat as soon as I arrived at polo. had those crappy park tool levers so some guy thought I was a dumbass and was teaching me how to replace a flat, in order to not seem like a jerk I just let him think I was a dumbass and listened to his 'instruction' while nodding my head

played some polo on the new whip. 38/22 takes me so mfing long to ride home though lol. hand pump couldn't get me **** for PSI, so i came home and ordered some co2 cartridges

Holy ****.

My uncle was killed by someone who was texting and driving. Was out helping a friend change a flat tire (uncle was a mechanic), the driver hit his truck, pinning him between his car and the one he was helping fix. Driver then careened across the road and hit a telephone pole. Was so unaware of what he had done that he came out of his car thinking someone had hit HIM.

My uncle survived the initial accident (with very severe physical injuries and mental impairment) and lingered in the hospital and nursing home for a few months, effectively bankrupting my aunt (they had insurance but hit the max payout). He later died of pneumonia and other complications while still in the nursing home.

The driver was uninsured and had no assets to sue for. There were criminal charges brought against him but I'm not sure of where those stand right now. **** people who text while driving. **** them.

my kit/weapons are 1580's English. i do like the look of middle class Cavalier ("musketeer"), but it's a little late for my group.

no "on guard". in historical rapier you wouldn't give them a warning, if you get in a fair fight you're a sucker and things like headbutts/grappling/shin and groin kicks are expected and encouraged. George Silver was the big name in English masters, but i prefer the Italians: Fabris, Agrippa and Saviolo.....

agreed.

from a (former) law enforcement angle, i see -no- difference between people who drink and drive and those who text, eat, read, laptop, etc. while driving. you're willfully limiting your ability to react.

Today I went out for a nice early ride and stripped my hub trying to skid stop on a really steep hill. Flipped to the free wheel and MAN is SS boring!

EDIT:
BTW I've read that other guy's stripped hub thread, so I'll take a piece of his abuse.
