Today was really nice out so I rode the path around a local lake. 70 PSI held the tires on my unhooked rims, although I kept waiting for a blowout.

I keep searching CL for a cheap mixte to convert. I dunno why I want one, but I do.

Today I am having withdrawals. I am driving 200 miles to drop my daughter off at college, so I did not get my morning ride in. What do do with myself?

Ah well, more time to ride I guess. They at least gave me a couple weeks of severance pay so I'm good for a few months on the bare minimums of life.

I actually may try to work at a bike shop for a bit. I've always wanted to.

Today I woke up very surprised to not be hungover.

Crazy things happen when you stroll into your local bar like a celebrity wearing a party hat and carrying balloons. At one point I tied balloons into my dreads and stood in front of a dartboard while some dude threw darts at them. He popped every single one. One of my friends made a video but I'm not sure which one.

found a deal on a pee-green All City Nature Boy. gonna jump on it for a winter commuter. bring on the studded tires!

my current outerwear brings me comfortably down to 29F w/o much concern. will be hitting the 'Winter Cycling' subforum for options on lowering that....

this is in no small way prompted by the fact that i realized since i started bike commuting, i fill up the car every 15 days instead of every 5....

Since I commuted to work every day this summer by bike, I think I put a whopping $15 into the tank of the car my brother and I share. Put a bit more into the sqrlfriends tank, but she just loves to drive.

Apparently my boss wants to have me do the Performance Bikes mechanic training course. Once that's done, I'm going from new guy in the shop to second in command of the shop. Moving right along...

Bikes: Kona Unit, Kona Kahuna, Kona Dew DL, Scott Big Jon, Trek Checkpoint ALR4, KHS Urban Soul, Haro Team Issue, GT Force Expert Carbon, Bernardi Quadra.

Today I did the hardest 60km of mountain biking I've ever done, lots of loose rocks, steep descents, and a 5km long climb in the dark to finish it all. Crashed once, got back home all covered in dirt with a scratched left elbow, left hand hurting a bit, but feeling awesome overall. The ride was hard but it was a lot of fun and I'd do it again. I'm learning to keep up with the geared riders, feels great.
