I make killer pierogi. Two varieties: cheese, and sauerkraut + mushroom. Grandma K's recipe. People fight over them. But, they take a full day to make so I pretty much make 'em for Christmas and that's it.

Grandmas pierogi made from scratch are the only acceptable kind

Unfortunately im lazy and i just get frozen ones and cook them in a skillet

Yeah, they're pretty great.

After much deliberation, my coworker decided not to sell his Basso. I'm sad now. Oh well, I'll get a Fuji and call it done.

one of the dinning halls on my campus has pierogis on tuesdays... I hope the handmade ones dont taste like the ones here do...

Test rode the brooks saddle I rebuilt yesterday (about 3 miles so far). Already feels better than the last thing I had, which was carefully over engineered to assure that there was no way possible to make it comfortable. Going to have to carry that thing around with me everywhere along with the tools to swap them out on the road until I trust this one, but so far so good.

Just took pictures of all the miscellaneous parts I've accrued over the past six months for craigslist. Hopefully I'll get enough stuff sold to find a new/old touring bike or get a new frame for my singletrack rig.

I tried to do that when I was piecing my Raleigh together. I just go the most annoying flaky callers ever and I didnt sell anything.

striknein 09-03-12 06:15 PM

I have better luck around here, mostly because everyone else is selling crap.

LesterOfPuppets 09-03-12 06:25 PM

I've had great luck selling whole bikes. They come see it, ride it (I ride with 'em), and buy it. Never even had a haggler.

I've had terrible luck with bike parts. All I get are bots, scammers and flakes responding to parts ads. Dunno why.

Today I had a fun road ride.

Street rider 09-03-12 06:36 PM

Today I played a little football, hung out with and got some food with a few friends. When I got home and checked my email, I'd gotten a response from the guy who runs a cycling club/group rides here at school. Hooray for no more long, lonely rides!

two great casual rides today. 10mi on the MUP with the wife after breakfast, another 10mi with my Monday night pub crawl group.

on the way home tonight some guy in a car pulls up in the lane next to me and gets all snotty "you know, there are sidewalks for a reason!". i calmly explained that i could get a ticket for riding on the sidewalk. he just made huffing noises until the light changed.

Right before I left work a dude brought in a 62cm Eddy Merckx track frame in lime green and purple. Those are my two favorite colors, and it was in my size. He said it was for sale, but he wanted $1000 for the frameset. Nuts.

i know. it's rough here. last year i was waiting for a cop to wave me through a construction project downtown and he paused to yell at a roadie in full kit for not being on the sidewalk where he belonged. i lost hope right about then....

Nagrom_ 09-03-12 07:05 PM

roadie

Hm, this is pretty easy.

Mumonkan 09-03-12 07:09 PM

seriously? i thought the cops job was to both know and enforce the laws

Nagrom_ 09-03-12 07:11 PM

"Hey, I don't write the laws!"

"You must not read them either."

They're alright. Football team sucks, but at least the academic programs are on the up and up. The scene isn't huge here, but I think it's starting to grow a bit. I've seen like 10 thrusters in the last two days.

I always wanted to have a mohawk, so I Taxi Driver'd myself.
