Yesterday I took the sqrl on a trip to the Pacific coast for her birthday. Stopped at Jaco for a quick breakfast and then went to Carara parque nacional and saw a badass 3 toed sloth. The park wasn't open yet so we went to Manuel Antonio parque nacional and went to a couple of beaches. We saw more sloths, white headed capuchin monkeys, ghost crabs, crab eating racoons, squirrel monkeys, and ctenosaur lizards. The beaches were awesome and hardly had anyone on them. Only drawback was the fact that jellyfish decided to show up. We both got stung a lot but it didn't hurt too bad. After the afternoon rain started we went to an artisan market and then got dinner in Jaco. Very fun day

I'm guessing they weren't the kind of jellyfish from that jellyfish yamika scene in jackass II lol. The stings just stung for about half an hour and left some bumps. The water was awesome otherwise so we swam anyway haha.

glad you're ok. an Aussie buddy tore his shoulder up thrashing around after a box jellyfish sting. that was the first thing i thought of.

today fat bikes are taunting me. i've seen a Pugsley and a Moonlander locally and am in hard -want-. doesn't really fill a niche in my stable, but o the desire to play with one......

You realize that was the only chance you had to legitimately pee on your girl, right?
Maybe she's thinking the same thing- missed opportunity! LOL

Finally got a chance to spend a shift at the co-op today, and I rehabbed the gnarliest wheel I'd ever seen. Rusty nuts, dried up grease, galvanized spokes/nipples, super screwy tension, the works. And I got that ***** back up to ~1mm runout, and arrow-straight laterally. /****ingchamp

Also, a buddy sold me this awesome little truing stand that will be just perfect for the garage.

It's crazy. I hadn't actually done any shop work in about 8 months, aside from my own bikes which I generally buy and keep in good working order. To think that I've really only been wrenching for about 2 years, and can get something like that completely back up to spec in about an hour and a half with no guidance/supervision feels absolutely great. I wish there was some way I could make a living doing it, but that would require doing it in a different town, or finding more money that I can come up with buying someone out.
