I rebuilt my old Raleigh, running purple risers and 40/16 (66gi) and going on a ~30 mile ride while everyone else is going to be geared in the 80s. Operation hamster wheel commence. |

40 miles only takes me like 2hrs when I ride from SF -> Mountain View for work. Tack on another hour to account for headwind/slower pace/whatever. Totes doable.

I've never actually gone to SF with a road bike before. |
Today I was riding and it looks like my hub bent and my tire started rubbing against the frame. Is it because my chain was too tight. I don't have a chain tensioner but my dropouts face open toward the front. Is it bad that I just run my chain without a derailleur?
|
Today my buddy had a stroke, at 24.
|
Wow, sorry to hear that. Severe?
|
He had surgery this morning, and there appears to be major brain damage.
|
Damn, dude. That's unfortunate as ****. How you holding up?
|
I'm alright.

What? Your hub didn't "bend", your axle nuts were loose and your wheel slipped.

Thanks, same here.

The screw in the cassete bent because the chain pulled it forward. The screw coming out of the cassette rotates sideways instead of straight now

I think he means his axle is bent.
Sorry about your friend, Morgan. That's terrible. |

Makes you really stop and think what's really important at the end of the day. |
Today I scuffed my bike for the first time. Well, it is actually the 2nd mark on it and it's on the side of my brooks so really I'm calling it as a 'character mark'. The first one is a small paint chip that was on the frame when I bought it.
|
Today I: eff you headwind, eff you!
|
Today I continue to pour sweat equity into a house I don't own. FFUUUUUU.
|
i did a bit of that today too. sucks.
time to join a credit union, start putting away in savings, and perhaps sell everything to invest and eventually get a more gauge. then again maybe it's not time for anything other than the first one. maybe it's time for the first one and this:http://thepathbikeshop.com/images/ne...na-Process.jpg |
After Legs day in the gym yesterday I decided to put the new chainring on my bike for 90 gear inch and go ride around Austin.
It sucked. |
