I woke up and went out into the kitchen, smelt the linger of a family morning breakfast. Ask my father, "You guys had breakfast without me?". He proclaims to have tried to wake me up, I proclaim bull****. He knows better then to give such a poor effort to wake me up. Letting me spit out an automated reply then simply roll over and continue sleeping is not known to be a effective measure for waking me up. But I guess better luck next time lol.

However on a more bike related matter, I will finish putting my replacement parts on my daily ride to complete getting it ready for another 6-8 months of riding. Also going to shop around for a simple small headlight to use when I just need to zip around the corner real quick at night.

...and if he'd kicked you in the head, you'd probably be complaining about that, but loving on the sweet breakfast you missed...

As a dad, I know this to be true.

8bits is in Brazil so shipping will be a lot more expensive, plus he'll have to pay taxes when they arrive.

logged in 17 hrs this week of riding time. haven't hit this much since college, but that's what being single and having a new apt close to work will do to ya.

Tonight I am freaking stuck at the bike shop, doing a sleepover, because my FWD car has totally bald tires on the front wheels and there's not enough snow coming down for DPW to actually plow/salt the roads. Tomorrow, I will pay the equivalent of an at-cost Soma frame, or 2x an at-cost Pake frame to get a couple of tires on the car so I can actually get home.

Tragedy? Set of studded tires already mounted at home on my commuter bike. Fuuuuuuuuh...k. Shoulda rode in.

Pity me. Except for the Dogfish Head 90 Min IPA I posted on the "What are you drnkn?" thread.

So all in all it was a good deal for me, same price and same weight, just less spokes on mine and they are not butted.

Bikes: Paramount Series 3 PDG-'91; Specialized Stumpjumper-'06; Trek 400-'92; Peugeot hybrid fixed gear conversion-late 80's?

Last night I was stopped by campus police for "walking in the darkness suspiciously with a bike". They're cracking down I guess, because the semester just ended and a lot of students leave their bikes locked up outside for the whole month that they're out of town. He asked me several questions and requested both my dl and student id. He filled out some slip with my info as a record in case the bike came up reported stolen, and he was too lazy to attempt to read the serial number through the powdercoat so he just took a picture of the bike. I told him that I built the bike myself when he remarked as to how light it was, and then he called my fixed gear a ten speed.

He was courteous and said that I would have wanted the same to happen if my bike had been stolen. It's a shame that when my bike was stolen I couldn't even get the assigned detective to return my calls, but that was in a different town. The last time I was stopped for the same "looking suspicious" I was a lot less annoyed than this time. Eh well I need to be more patient with bumbling officers with nothing better to do.

I just saw Braid. Amazing. They played new songs from their upcoming album. I'm so stoked. My friend's band was awesome. Today was the sixth anniversary of when my wife and I started dating. It has been an awesome day.

Today i was a little envious when my coworker traded his early 2000s rockhopper (really?) and a trainer for a langster NYC with carbon fork and seatpost from craigslist. now my kilo feels HEAVY. i'm telling myself sloping top tube bikes are ugly to deal with it.

Today I snapped the D101 chain on the 930, right at the end of my ride.
