Today I rode my bike in circles.

Jandro, our friend Francis, and myself managed to get 2nd in the team sprint. Awww yeahhh, first race first podium. I'm quitting bikes while I'm ahead.

Oh.. also got 2nd in a kerin heat, but didn't have enough gas for the next heat to advance to the finals. I need to work on my endurance.

Leukybear 04-27-13 10:42 PM

Today I rode bikes with the sqrl. Would otherwise be the norm except this was our first time together on a tandem! :D

bro 04-28-13 12:00 AM

ahhh that must be so much fun.

She purposely went aslackin' at my expense during the largest grade of the route to see if I noticed. Considering this was our first time I had no idea until she told me.

A lot of smiles and waves, too bad we couldn't keep it.

Happiness is having a tandem and someone to be your stoker .

Steev 04-28-13 09:43 AM

Last night was pretty crazy. Started out at one party, then walking down the street, we noticed fire. So naturally we walked over there to find a couch on fire. Then the cops showed up in force, and basically shut everything down. They wouldn't even let people sit on their front porches, like 3 blocks away from where the fire was. Was a bit stoopit.

At that price, you NEED to make it happen. You must have someone you can bum $100 from.

PS - if you do get it, I'd easily pay about $100 for the fork alone.

Today I fixed a flat before my ride, and got a second flat during my ride. Cut the ride short and limped home. Should have went for a run.

cc700 04-28-13 03:40 PM

got another kilo tt

Dannihilator 04-28-13 04:53 PM

Today I bonked pretty hard.

Scrodzilla 04-28-13 04:58 PM

Today I swam in the ocean for the first time this year. The water was probably around 45 degrees. Too damn cold, but it felt great. I love being in the ocean.

cc700 04-28-13 05:31 PM

****** fine ass leaves

Mumonkan 04-28-13 05:36 PM

today i trued a wheel for the first time, not nearly as aggravating as i anticipated and i actually enjoyed it

also took like 1/10th of the time i thought it would

stryper 04-28-13 06:48 PM

Today I successfully rode this: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2051745
Used my superb, 51x17 for the flats and descents, 51x20 for the climbs. It was grueling. First century, first time climbing. Had a blast

Spoonrobot 04-28-13 07:25 PM

Figure as much as you paid for that frame you would at least be able to climb those piddly hills without flipping the wheel.

:(

Spoonrobot 04-28-13 07:26 PM

j/k

i'm just jealous. good work, you should enter it into the metric challenge.

cc700 04-28-13 07:30 PM

Ah I got a decent discount on the frame so it wasn't terrible. Also no wheel flipping here, dingle cog all the way. So convenient

Cool. I have been wondering about them. It's seldom anyone says anything about them around here.

I just bought one for $32 bucks w/shipping. Worth a try, I thought.:)

It was a sweet purple with chrome rear triangle Bertoni. No wheels or RD, maybe missing a couple of other parts. $100

sinikl 04-28-13 08:47 PM

Tonight i rode my MTB (96 Schwinn s9.3 with Noleen linkage fork... yeah. old) to the minimart for smokes because it's raining and i had just fettled my Kilo.

Initial thoughts:
-why is my ass getting SO WET (answer:Onza "Rip" mud type knobbies circa 96... i literally bought 4 pair when they were available new, though, and haven't ridden it since easily 2007)
-why am i SO SLOW (bike weighs easily 30+ lbs)
-why are the bars SO WIDE
-PACE PEDALING DOES NOTHING ZOMG
-i have a huge dead spot in my pedal stroke at bottom dead center after riding fixed.

I bought it expecting to do some climbing around here last summer but this is the first time I've even used the 20t. I also picked up a 44t chainring om ebay today since I run road doubles, which should be the right size so I can have 51x17 and 44x20, which will make a much better combo. Thinking about grabbing a new dingle too, 17x21. I'm sure I can find use for two. It's basically my favorite bike part at this point.

Have you done the math yet?? Do you have enough slot for the adjustment? All I know is some say it allows the same difference in chainring teeth as in cog teeth without messing with chain length...................17X21 would go with 51X47. I have never thought about going with a greater difference. I don't even have the thing yet so I really don't know a lot. But, it's on the way!!!

theblackbullet 04-28-13 09:36 PM

built a bike rack. unsure If i like it or not though :/
