Just dropped to 70 from 74 on the Kilo. It feels like i'm lifted by angels on hills.
I guess i'll have to go 48x19 now that i know it's the Devil's GI.

Bianchi SS cross- currently 42 x 17 or 39 x 20, "dinglespeed." 67 and 53 GI (the latter for singletrack climbs, the former for mixed terrain rides)
Shogun conversion- 39 x 15 or 42 x 15, so 74.9 or 69.6

moving target
115 inches on my rabbit, but 117 on the link you gave us.
frame pulls double duty between seasons and races. great for nor-cal
move the outer ring (48 teeth),to the inner spider different bolts.
swap back wheels (11 teeth on a nashbar hub) and strip the frame of none essential parts.
swap handle bars. takes about 1 hour to turn it into a fixed gear.
for tri duty takes about 2 hours to turn it back and adjust it.
before you complain smallest cog is 11 teeth smallest single speed ring is 13, i had to special order them,

48x17 in Berkeley and comfortable.
I'm going swap my chainring for a 49t and see how that feels around here.

44-17 on the trek t1
48-19 on the sputnik
works out to about 68 and 66GI respectively. I've got a brake on the Trek so I'm going to throw a larger cog on it shortly and start using it to train for wolf pack. Sputnik is going to stay lower geared and remain brakeless so I can holler at sqrls. wut?

Went from 42/16 (~70") to 45/16 (~75") a couple days ago; not a huge difference but it does feel more comfortable in the flats. There are some steep, short hills where I live and I can still get up them with the bigger chainring but I don't struggle as much going down.

my locale is almost completely flat but i think i have finally fought off the impulse to go to a 48t ring & instead may even put one of my bigger cogs on soon

46x16 currently. Set of 6 cogs in the mail from 13-18 so I will be experimentin' ::grin::
I'm not sure how big of a chainring would fit on my bike... 46 on there now only has about 1/8" clearance from the chainstay.

46/17.
Not too many hills, but the bridges can be tough, especially with headwinds like this morning.

I rode 48x17 SS for a bit on a Kilo TT. Just ordered a Raleigh Rush Hour which will arrive next week with 46x16 SS and Fixed (FlipFlop). I will try those gears at first, but I think I may go to 46x17 SS or 46x18 Fixed. I am recovering from a blown knee, so the hills are going to be a bit of a challenge..... I am also going to pick the flattest routes I can for a awhile
