Buying b43. What's better?
I'm on the market for another wheelset. I'm getting tired of my purple origin 8 track attack. I hate when people look at my bike and thinks I'm just one of those fixie kids in this city cuz of this bright wheels. I mostly use my bike to do some cardio. Now I'm just gonna get black wheels. What would be a better choice than a b43, in weight and durability. Thanks

Yea or sun m13s from velomine...scrod loves his so they must be nice.
Any lower profile or box section rim thats just plain colored will take away from the whole "hipster cred"
https://www.velomine.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1097 and

are good options for you I'd guess

i have b43s, and i don't really like them too much. sure, when i broke a chain a spoke got bent out of shape and nothing at all happened to the rim.... so that's good?
if you want a deep section rim, definetly go with h+son. forget b43...

No love for your FOER's?
You mentioned that you use the bike for cardio, but you also show interest in finding a good durable lightweight wheel. Is there a reason you are looking at the B43's? Do you want something aero? Do you want something that you can bomb off curbs and hit potholes like no other? There aren't too many hand built wheels (when built properly) that are NOT going to be durable at 32 spokes, but there is a difference between feeling the flex and feeling the confidence of a strong rim.
My vote is to get more information about what exactly your rides are like, and your priority when it comes to weight, durable, spoke count, price, hub choice, ****** factor... I have the thought that anything color specific on your bike really means you want to stand out of the crowd, and with those purple rims the bike looks great but it definitely attracts a lot of attention. If you are looking to ton it down quite a bit, I'd jump on the Open pro's bandwagon (though I have yet to build up one, it is on my list of wheels to build)

I guess im just one of the fixie kids, but honestly b43's arent going to help with haters.
Don't get me wrong though because b43 are great rims and put through alot.
I had mine relaced by bumsteads and never had a truing problem. They are heavy so I would also recomend going with a b43 rear and a velocity front like i have.

I charge extra to build up B43's for customers. They are ghastly to work with. They are rarely round or straight from the box. They take soooooo much work to get round and straight, then when you do, you have huge (relative of course) variances in spoke tensions. They are better suited for MTB w/ disc brake use.
Foers are great! Inexpensie and much easier to work with. Just can't count on published ERd's, or consistency from one rim to another for that matter.
