Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Mercier Kilo OS questions

Thinking about buying one of the built Kilo OS's from bikesdirect, but only the 53 is left. Any current owners have any opinion on how the bike fits compared to other fixed gear bikes. I typically ride a 54 or 55 (5'10 with about a 32 inch standover clearance). Also, does anyone know the weight of the bike? Finally, any opinions on rolling resistance with those fatty tires? I'm one of the crowd that actually likes the looks, but just want to make sure it will functionally fit before pulling the trigger on this one. Thanks!

Yes, I have done a search and read all of those threads. Looking for more comprehensive feedback on those specific questions. Thanks!

This thread may help with the fit as a 53cm for a person 5'9 1/2" and short legs and it barely fit. https://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-633252.html

Why not post in one of those existing threads instead of starting a new one?

Not sure about sizing, depends on which top tube they measured.

Right, but his following post is about going outside and actually riding it, and adjusting the seat. Not sure if that actually meant that he truly didn't have enough room for his legs.

Not looking to build one up, I'm only looking for one already built to save $$

Didn't think it would be prudent to post in a thread that hasn't had any activity in over a year - its not about introducing it to market anymore.

The last one on the list I provided is a clearly 'review' thread.

You know BikesDirect has an e-mail address, right?

Bikes: Too many bikes, too little time to ride

The bike is a waste of money and this thread is a waste of time/bandwidth.
