Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

wheelset and fork will set you back, what, like $250? doesn't sound like much of a deal anymore.

Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

Should I go out and try to destroy the rear wheel before setting up the new rear wheel, or keep it as a spare?

I would choose the style of bars and brake levers to use, that will decide for you.

Used Dura Ace PD-7810 pedals for $65 with cleats? Seems like a good deal to me but what do you guys think?

Haven't used either, but, there's plenty of complaints about durability of Crank Bros stuff out there, little griping about the Times.

Never used Eggbeaters, but after so much time on ATACs I can't imagine using a pedal with no platform would be fun.

Zero setback post, or no? I think it's going to be on the extremes of both ends of the spectrum.

Is the seat where it needs to be?

If yes, then you do not need. If no, then you need.
