no, get a quarq crank.

I have the money (tax return). Is it a good enough deal to force me to get it without any real need for it?

Powertap Elite+ hub laced to Zipp 404 clincher wheelset - Used for racing only, 2 seasons - Includes CPU, docking station, and HR monitor - Less than 2000 miles - $900 |
I dunno. Clinchers seem nice... if you have the money and you really want them then go for it.
|
Wteff am I gonna use them for. Wall art?
I feel like... if I don't end up using them I can just resell them for what I paid? I don't know anything about Zipp/Powertap resale cuz I always thought they'd be way too expensive for me to even consider. |

Really? $900 isn't a good enough deal?

My buddy is willing to buy the rear PowerTap hub and computer for me and split the costs. I guess that works out cuz I don't even care about power and whatever else the PowerTap spits out. PowerTap seems pretty steezy, but I don't see myself EVER using it.
We didn't talk about pricing specifics, but I think it'd come out to $450 for a front Zipp and a rear rim. I'd need to get a new hub, spokes and wheel build labor. |
listen to yourself. no.

I'm with adriano. Think about it--not a good place for your money.

Toyo Godzilla vs. Rush Hour Pro
To be used as a street/road and entry level track bike. Leaning towards Godzilla. Mainly because of name. edit: Maybe even Gazetta w/alpina fork. I like steel. A lot. I've heard good things about Columbus steel. |

Still might happen doe. Womp. |
What would you build up, front or rear?
@GMJ if you like steel I say bareknuckle. I know it wasn't one of your options, but it's like the godzilla but you can spare a hundred to put into the build. |
I'll get the complete front wheel and build the rear to something reasonable.
|
Chris King hub? :p
|
Haha, got $350 for me?

That's a bummer... :(

I've been thinking about a Circus Monkey hub.
Might feel dumb lacing such an expensive rim to such a cheap hub doe. |
