new rush or old? that's a nice deal
@city: They're essentially the same weight, so whichever tickles your fancy. I'd vote scrods if they were both NMSW its only an $80 difference and would prefer to give scrod my money. Probably going with scrods just wanted a second opinion |
@city: if $80 is NBD to you, I'd get scrod's fo'sho. I'd rather have those spokes and rims, kinda feel like the hubs are a wash

Easiest way to tell old from new is the decals and the dropouts. The new Rush has sexy ass tange dropouts |
Then its the older frame.

still an awesome frame!

Should I get my friend's used 2008 Cannondale Capo for a "first" bike for my younger brother? His first bike was stolen and he might be more enthusiastic about riding fixed gear.
that or an older Cannondale roadie http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...-53-24_608.jpg vs http://images.craigslist.org/5G85Kf5...4b236f10ca.jpg both are 56ish |

How old is he? Why are you all so big?

Mommies and daddies love each other. Sometimes mommies and daddies show each other how much we love each other in different ways than we show you guys... [insert awkward conversation] ...and that's why you and your brother look a lot alike. |

He's 16 almost 6' tall. He's skinny/narrow as hell though, about 120lbs. I could never be 120, at 180 I looked like a skeleton. Anyway, it looks like the roadie it is. We're going to look at it with my dad, who will be paying. This is mostly an effort to be a more involved brother and to give him something to do other than hang out with some less than decent friends.

6' 120? He should gain some weight.

Should I buy some laminated single straps? Campy, MKS, or Toshi?
My current leather ones are falling apart. |

My current leather ones are falling apart. Have you given thought to cutting scrod's deluxe ones? |
Been wanting a lock up bike for a while now and I have found a Pake Rum Runner the older ones with a 1" fork and a khs flite 100 for the exact same price which one should I get I know pake is an economy brand and flite 100 is just a kilo tt but which is better? I have no expierence with either company so I would really like to know.

My current leather ones are falling apart. after riding doubles for so long I made the switch to a single strap (brooks, too poor for double) and it just feels way less 'safe' for lack of a better word. the double makes me feel all warm and cozy, like my foot isn't going anywhere |
I totally see that, but I don't skid so it's kind of a moot point for me. Plus I don't care for the way doubles look.

Serious question: how do you plan to convert the top one to fixed? Because other than a whole lot of hunting and pecking for the right ratio or an eccentric axle [and maybe a halflink] I'm out of ideas, and both of those are a pain in the ass for someone who didn't set them up.
"that or an older Cannondale roadie" |
well, he got a completely different bike now which can be converted in the future.

Should I sell my Kilo complete for $360?
It's just barely too big for me. But I like the bike. Hm, not sure... |
