Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm a huge dork

I don't know what it is, sometimes I have doubts. I mean I can skid further than anyone I know, often brodying left to right right to left, and I can trackstand for a long time too, but sometimes I think I might be a huge dork. Does this happen to anyone else?

Yeah, I feel that way too. But if I'm going to be a penis, I might as well be the mightiest of penises!

The only time I ever feel like a penis is, well, umm....actually, I can't think of any times. Hmmm...I guess it's just you.

my rule of thumb has been that if you know what 1337 means, you sir are a dork.
It holds true for most people I know. You are further down the road if you have accidently clicked that ******.cx (not sure of what the exact url is) link. I have cruel friends.

From The Fan Man by William Kotzwinkle:

It's a Dorky-Day Once Again!

"Dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky..."

(It is morning, man, on a new day, and I am stumbling around my pad, repeating over and over again):

"...dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky dorky ..."

Bikes: yes please.

you're a dork for starting this thread. maybe you should sell your bike and go back to driving your cabriolet to starbucks... or go out and ride the f'in' thing instead of being an internet hero in your own mind.

As soon as you're online they make you feel small
By tripping you up and then mocking your fall
And the net is so big you know nothing at all
An Internet hero is something to be

They flail you in email and they flame you in news
They followup if you're clever and they killfile the fools
Till you're so ****ing busy you can't follow their rules
An Internet hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you right down to the bone
Then they'll expect you to pick up their phone
And when the system won't function you're left on your own
An Internet hero is something to be

Keep you doped with the web and TCP/IP
And you think you're so hardwired surfing for free
But you're still clueless newbies as far as I can see
An Internet hero is something to be

There's work for consultants they say on the phone
But first you must learn to run Unix at home
If you want to live like a geek on your own
An Internet hero is something to be

If you want to be a hero well just follow me
