Dummy brake... Other uses?

I just set up the Prez with road bars, and I am wondering... Anybody come up with a cleaver use for the dummy brake?

You could hook it up to a water bottle and when you squeezed the brake, it would send water into your mouth.

Rig it to fire dual airsoft pistols mounted to either side of your helmet.

Ooh, as many times as I've seen this picture, I never noticed that there was a bell there. Cool!

After watching that video of the people on bikes dumping paint onto the intersection (to make cars "paint"), I've thought it would be very interesting to rig up a canister of colored chalk near the rear wheel. Brake lever could open the canister releasing a bit of chalk and painting a path behind you.

Another option would be a rear brakelight. Ideally something with a push/pull style activation so you don't have to really wire anything.

That would mean first turning it off.

Rig it to a mechanical vuvuzela. Sqrl's will know what's up when you roll on by.

You are crazy. Next you'll suggest we design a rear cog that lets the wheel spin when the cranks aren't. You can call it...the crank/wheel syncopator.

On second that, that's my idea. Dibs.

YOu could also hook up both levers to the same brake. Not sure how well it will work or feel, but it is worth a shot.

Actually, the bar tape is wrapped on both sides from top to bottom (as opposed to bottom to top) to avoid having to use some sort of plastic tape to finish off the wrap. That's how I've been wrapping all of my bars for years. It's a much cleaner look and contrary to popular belief, the edges don't roll up easily and by the time they do, it's time to replace the grip tape anyway.

Isn't it also the traditional way with cloth tape+shellac?

Maybe. But, I've seen cloth tape wrapped from the bottom up then finished off with twine for about 1.5-2cm then knotted.

Or 2 inches:
