Stripped crank arm AGAIN....why!
I got a pair of Omniums a few months back because I had this problem on my old set of cranks.. This time I had my lbs put on the pedals for me, so i wouldn't mess it up again.. However last night i took my pedal off (it was pretty damn tight), and my new pedals won't go in. I was very gentle with the damn thing and everything. They shoudn't be this easy to strip. Does anyone have any idea on why this is happening, i'm so frustrated that this happened again..

it takes a fair amount if effort to cross thread with out realizing it immediately ... honestly you would definitely get an award if you've managed to do this twice, having not learned your lesson the first time.

Your cog is slipping.
I think you're missing the part where he said a shop installed his pedals.
deadsouls - your lbs sucks. You'll be able to tell by looking if the threads are stripped and if they are, go back there and see what they're willing to do about it. If they're not, you're probably trying to install the pedals on the wrong sides. This is the reason they're marked with L/R.

I saw that part, but he said it was a problem when he, himself, tried to install new ones. Just trying to help him troubleshoot.

Rithem, are you greasing the threads and starting each pedal by hand (no tools) for a couple of turns when you put them on? Always hand start anything that is machine threaded

Hold up this is reetahded .... pedals can sometimes be extremely hard to get off, secondly the tool used and location of the bike is relative to the perceived difficulty. i.e. pedal removal is much harder in a work stand than on it's 2 wheels on the floor/ground., also the length of the pedal wrench matters too; basic physics. I always start threading by hand first to get the first few threads in the crank arm, if there is difficulty then I inspect the parts for damage. Make sure you are threading correctly usually you can finger tighten all the way down to arm ... oh yeah be sure to grease the threads.

Alright, I fixed the problem. It's not my cranks. It was just my right pedal, i tried a different one and it worked fine. Thank god. Feel free to remove this thread Scrod!
