Tried finding some threads on this but didn't have much luck...
but what do you guys think of the cheap ebay frames going for around $60-$70?
I know you get what you pay for but i'm still interested cause im somewhere between just trying one of these or waiting it out to get a Kilo frame.

Dave on here has an ebay frame, he says it rides great. Hopefully he'll see this and chime in.

The frame Dave has is a ebay frame, but it is one of the more high quality $120-150 frames. Besides the ones under 100 are usually just cheap vilano frames.Originally Posted by Jaytron

yeah the ebay frame dave has is just an unbranded pake IIRC, where the cheaper ones are vilanos and are heavy a balls and feel bad.

Maybe I'm horrible at using the interwebz, but I can't find anything on an IIRC. got any pics?

I'm thinking about ordering one of these to build a lock-up/commute bike:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/TRATB-track-...item41588baa9f
I can't offer a ride report or anything, but it's worth a try at 150.00 + 50 shipping. Includes headset, seatpost, and fork.

I really like how the box is labeled: "FIXIE BIKE".
Don't expect much through; those frames are ridiculously heavy for aluminum and even steel.

definitely not worth it

The frame dave has is this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Track-Fixie-...ht_1496wt_1185 if I am correct.

With these frames you pretty much get what you pay for. If you want a harsh, sluggish, and cheap feeling bike, then spend $70 for a Vilano. If you want a smooth, responsive ride then get something like this:

Paired with this:
https://www.retro-gression.com/product/pake-track-fork
It's way above your price range but it's worth it. If you can't afford it then pass until you have the $$$.

I got a vilano for 25 dollars and it cost another 25 to ship it. I was expecting it to be low quality and heavy but it was worse than i imagined. One of the fork ends is only kinda welded in and they stick out of the fork at completely different levels as well. That doesn't really bother me too much but the fact that the included sealed BB with a spindle so long the chainline nearly exits the dropouts does because i can't even get it out. I've tried everything short of using an impact wrench.
Just smang it.

Who on here has the ViSP? I remember he had Bianchai logos on it. I think the visp and this bike are from the same parent company or exporter.Originally Posted by BmoreDrew

Edit: Now I remember. That was Charlie #2's (cc700) bike. IIRC the ViSP framesets were somewhere in the 1-200 range.

There are still a few VISP's here and there on eBay, but I think you're right that these are the replacements to the visp. Theres a straight downtube version I thought was a visp at first.

the visp was awesome. sure, it's nothing compared to the ftp for a track bike, but it was SO much more comfortable over long distances. and it rode great. heavy but responsive and pretty comfy.

i mean, by all means get a REAL bike if you can afford it. but if you want something to lock up around town and look ****ing fly as **** on, i highly recommend their trxnl-2 frame. the newjack swoopy bikes look terrible, and the trx790 and such look dumb with that seatstay cluster, but i really liked my vispaconcept and now that i saw what the second owner did to it, i wish i hadn't sold it.

Was it cool or was it along the lines of what Prolly did to Carleton's Bianchi?Originally Posted by cc700
