@kreative & @leukybear i didnt stripped the anodizing, i just painted straight on top of the end product and put a coat on top of it. Same thing that i did with the crank, chainring, pedal, and toecage

thx for the info. How well did the paint stick, did you have to prep it at all? Color also looks good, like it matches the rest of the silver parts, can you share the paint brand and code?

I just paint straight over because the existing oven quality paint from the parts are already good enough.
The brand that i use is Platinum, i think it's a local brand. The clear coat that i use is Sikens.
I took the fork to the paint shop and asked them to mix the same one.

Fresh bike, I have the same Profile Design rail mounted cages. Replace the bolts on the rail clamp device to something stainless. I snapped off three or four of the bolts at the head, this is the last time.

I had a religious experience last night. I finally got my Chrome shoes in from Zappos, and then went to the local bike shop and grabbed a set of Shimano M780 clipless pedals and had them slam them on for my ride home. Had to install the clips to the shoes in the parking lot in the dark since they were about to close, and then figure out how to get in and out of the pedals, but once I did, I was in heaven.

Fixed + Clipless = Zen. Track stands were strange since there is quite a bit of float on these, felt like standing on ice.

Should have done this last year.

I've encountered broken bolts on these Profile Aqua Racks a bunch. I think the threads also act as a stress riser for the crack. It would be ideal to get a bolt with a smooth shank and just enough threads to engage the mount.

I found that one does not simply set the saddle angle of Specialized Toupe. My Toupe (which is surprisingly comfortable given that it's basically 140 grams of plastic) is tilted slightly upwards:

Oh, and it happens to be in Cinelli too :)

I ride Toupés on all my bikes. They are all level.

wow, i switched to clipless a couple weeks ago and i immediately noticed that feeling but i couldnt formulate that into words

think ive gotten used to it now though after a hundred miles or so

clipless is definitely the best, and that bike just gets sexier exery time i see it

Russell Hurst 09-13-12 03:36 AM

Nice ride! I almost bought this bike. I only went with the Vigorelli just because it has a better road like geometry and it just looks so damn beautiful LIVE but I really love this frame!
