Bundaberg Red rum - Bundy's wonderful brown rum filtered through red gum and, just like the advertising says, it's smoooooottttttthhh ... though the advertising doesn't mention the mule like kick when you're not looking.

It's not bad, I would be careful about calling it an IPA though. It drinks more like a slightly hoppy amber.

If you still notice how bad it is after the third stubby, it's a rubbish beer.

Any good Beer Bars in San Francisco near Union Square??? (asking here because of the large San Fran contingent).

Thanks for the tip. Last night I ended up going to the Amsterdam Cafe with intentions to hit some others. They had a great selection of Belgians, so I stayed for the night. Great little place and friendly bar tenders.

adventures away from the realm of craft beer:

woodford reserve, then remy martin vsop

I think so far, I enjoy woodford more than bulleit...

afaik, they are comparable bourbons.. might have to take multiple sessions to declare a victor to my taste buds.

first time trying cognac, too

Henry Westons Vintage Cider

Tasty and very strong! Lovely though

and?

I love me a pour of some cognac with a little ice. If you ever get to try Remy XO it really is a treat.

Henessey and Courvoisier are good too for affordable stuff

it really reminds me of whiskey in the sense that it's above 40% abv.. To anyone regularly enjoys beer, this is obvious- we're no longer in Kansas... But it definitely has some sweeter and nuttier notes that take a few sips to sort through. Overall, I did enjoy it and I'm anticipating the next session with it.. Hennessy was available too, but the sales dude suggested the remy vsop to try..

Black Russian with a splash of Triple Sec. It's a pretty good combo. I want to call it an Easter Bunny because I always got orange chocolate for Easter, but I think it's already the name of a drink.
