I've done some quick searches for the 3T and the Cinelli L.A bars and from the side views it does seem like certain track or road bars could be made to look like them. I actually think my current ones have a similar bend. Hmmm.

I think a deep maes would work the best for the curve but I'm not sure about the flare.

the nitto rb009s are kinda similar. they have hard angles though

Thank you my friend, but I ended up cutting up my old shallow drops. I like the look decent actually lol, but they would look closer to the 3T's if they had been cut from deeper bars.

Was riding the T past a restaurant I frequent today and I noticed a bike locked out front. Was a SS or FG and locked to a post, but was missing the chain. WTF? I can't imagine anyone wanting to steal a chain for use because it's not like you'd have any idea whether it'd work for you and the chain is like the cheapest part on the bike (lock went through the frame not either wheel). And it's not like you'd remove the chain as an anti-theft measure right? Seems like too much work and too messy. Vandalism? Is there some obvious option I'm missing? Dude's chain got ****ed up and he took it off and went home to get a new one (took it off to get the right length)?

Not that you'd have any idea, just spent the rest of the ride home trying to figure out why there'd be a bike locked up without a chain on it. I guess I'm just weird and have strange thought processes sometimes.

That bike had been locked outside the restaurant for like a week (unless the owner worked there and was on shift every time I go past), so I was wondering if some vengeful restaurant owner decided to mess up the dude's bike without thinking it through that it meant that the bike would never leave from in front of his shop. I'm leaning more towards vandals/hipster stranders at this point.

How much clearance do you have between your chainstay and the back of your crank arm spider with your S75's? My Omniums made contact with the chainstay on the 56cm, I haven't had an issue so far with the 54cm.

What kind of bars are they and where will you be mounting the lever?

If they are bullhorns or drops and you're mounting it near the stem, you need the 26mm. If they're risers or flat bars, the diameter is most likely 22.2mm where you will be mounting the lever and you will need a shim.

I typically hate wearing gloves. Asking Carleton may be the way to go.

Scrod, This is more of a warning than a question, but that Deda Mistral bar tape is an absolute ***** to remove the adhesive strip on. I removed the tape no problem, but it left behind a padded tape-lined adhesive strip all the way along the bars. Scrubbed with goo-gone and then Windex to no avail. Ended up soaking the bars in a sink full of soapy water for an hour or two and scraped it all off with a vinyl squeegee thing, but it was still a major pain in the ass. Just a heads up if you ever decide to remove that tape on your drop bars.

Oh, I know. It helps if you heat the tape up before removing it. Leaving your bike out in the sun until the tape gets hot or using a hair dryer works well.

Damnit. I had them sitting in my car all day yesterday, and thought at lunch time "this would be a good time to remove that tape" and then forgot about it until like midnight. I'll do that next time. I like the tape, so I'll probably use it again. Thanks haha!

Ive been using mechanix gloves since my motorcycle days and theyve never steered me wrong
good enough to last a good amount of time and cheap enough ($19) that you wont hate the world if you forget them at the bar

i prefer gloves with a nice leather or kevlar or palm or a mix of the two. I dont fancy the gel gloves that much cuz they offer too much padding in my opinion and you dont feel the bars as much. and a kevlar or nice leather palm area will help if you fall so you dont scrape off your palms

oh, and Scrod, are you the only guys that sell the hood rat drops? I could not find them anywhere else.haha. And what do you think of them? I remember you saying that they were great, but are they flexy at all compared to other compact drop bars? thnks
