That's a pretty vague question, as there are many different kinds/grades of both steel and aluminum.
Unless you're buying a really high-grade aluminum frame, cro-mo will always provide a better ride on the street.

I'm making an assumption here, but anything on bike island or your site would be decent quality materials? (Cro-Mo: Kilo TT, Pake, Big Block etc. Aluminum: Leader 721, 725)

Decent, yes - but there a considerable difference between the steel tubing used on a Pake Rum Runner and that on a Godzilla.

I guess im not understanding the diff or downsides to either. You are saying that you would take the cro-mo frames I listed over the leader frames listed?
Between the Leader 725 and a bianchi Pista which would you chose?
I started reading up on the leader frames and I read a few places that they tend to flex a lot, so is that what you were saying by low grade aluminum frame?
Im looking for some form of benchmark, but im thinking there is none.

You may need to do a little more research on your own. Google is your friend.
My Leader 725 didn't have any more noticeable "flex" than my Dodici - but the ride was a little more harsh.

I know saddles are very subjective, but what kind of saddle does your sqrl use?

I think the bead on my tires are coming off the rim at higher PSI levels, causing the tubes to blow. I can work the entire tire on the rim without levers, using my thumbs. Is there anything I can do to keep them on more securely, or should I just get different tires?

You think the bead is coming off? Either it is or it isn't. Should be pretty easy to tell.
What tires are you using?

Yes, the bead is coming off. I wasn't sure about the front tube blowout, but I'm sure about the rear blowout. I'm using Bontrager Sport 27 x 1.25 skinwalls. Thanks!

'Bontrager' has to mean garbage in some other language. If you're using the correct size tube and the recommended psi, get new tires.

scrod: after you brought that SL novatec hub to my attention i want it.
do you know of any skewers with regular style 15mm nuts?
only ones i seem to be finding are ones with a slotted type end (like on the missus 721) or hex (like phil wood)

Scrod, I have the chance to change my Leader 722TS for a Colossi Tig Welded Columbus Zona frameset for 100 bucks more, this is a new frame btw. Do you think it would be a good deal? The frame looks cool, has stainless steel dropouts and uses a upscale chromoly tubbing.

Does it fit you?
Do you like it better than your 722TS?
Do you have $100?
If you answered yes to all three, you know what to do.

It does fit me and I do have the $100, but the question that is puzzling me is, will I be changing from a 12 to a dozen? Is the higher grade tubbing much better?

It honestly won't make a huge difference, other than the one in your head.
