This pic from Velomine doesn't show enough?

They're anodized matte black, like Velocity Deep Vs and such.

Red Kap, hands down. They fit a little slimmer and wear without getting pilly over time.

for an NYC bike - wheel choices (all are within $10 of each other)
Velocity B43
Weinann DP18
Sun M13

The B43/DP18 strength worth the weight?

Thanks dude.

B43s are bombproof but never not worth the weight, IMO.

Why no Deep Vs?

I've heard nitto measures there stems differently from everyone else, so a stem is really about 8 mm longer then labeled. Can you confirm this?

to be honest, cost. the v's are around $160+ and the other are 115-130. The price isn't a deal breaker, but I figured if I could get a decent set of rims for cheap it would be ok. I bought the Kilo WT, I was planning on keeping the stock Alex rims + wider tires as an option (and some studs for winter) and have an extra set with some thinner width tires (25-28)

Yes. They are essentially the same crank.

My UI-85EX is labeled 100mm and that's exactly what it meausres, center to center. I've heard weird stuff about their quill stems but have never bothered to measure them.

Dear Scrod,

After my chain miraculously managed to remove itself from the cog while riding, it became stuck between my frame and the wheel. One of the tooth on my cog split in half so I ordered a new one (from RG).

When removing my wheel, I realize that it was very tight in one of the dropout (drive side one).

The bottom part of the dropout appeared to be slightly bent toward the exterior.

Is my frame still rideable? There isn't any damage on the frame except this.

(And no, the tools on the picture where not used on the bike )

I also would buy a RG jersey, and I don't care if it's the wrong thread for it.

Also, gnargyle.

I have a "130mm" Nitto that is longer than my other 130mm stems. It is at least 5mm longer

It's steel, bend it back in place and call it a day.

I have a technomic stem that from what I read only went up to 120 mm and this is at least 125-128 mm or so.

For that to happen in the first place, your chain was likely much too loose. You should be able to bend the dropout back and reinstall your wheel without any problems.

Hey Scrod,

Should I peel the chainstay protector off of my bike (I ride fixed)? It's just a sticker than came on the frame when I got it.

Thats a Load Bearing Decal.

I would never touch it.

Peeling the chainstay decal off will not cause your bike to implode.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking regarding the grease though.
